Wplus9 Oct./Nov. Release: Day 3

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

It's Day 3 of Wplus9 Design's October/November Release, y'all!  Tomorrow's the big reveal, but before that, I've got a little trio of goodies to share with you all.  Check them out!
Let's first take a look at the card up close and personal.
I started this card by prepping the kraft, cardstock, card face with die cut, from kraft cardstock, snowflakes.
I then set it aside to prep the stamped panel, which was begun by stamping a piece of ink distressed, Oatmeal cardstock, in Pool Party, Riding Hood Red, and Barely Banana inks, with all the elements to created these playful, folk art snowflakes.  I then stamped the Christmas tree, in Lucky Limeade, Chocolate Chip, and Riding Hood Red inks, on an ink distressed, Oatmeal, cardstock die cut and adhered it, with foam tape, in the center of the stamped piece.
Its bottom edge was trimmed with an ink distressed piece of red, floral, patterned paper, which was also stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the "MAY THE SPIRIT OF Christmas fill your HEART with joy and your HOME with love." sentiment; framed the entire piece with a piece of Barely Banana cardstock; and machine stitched, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges.
A length of red, gingham ribbon was then wrapped, around the prepped piece, between the two, prepped papers; tied, in a bow, near its right side; and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows, before adhering the entire, created piece, with foam tape, to the prepped, card face, to complete the look.
The ornament was created by stacking a die cut, from Ruby Red cardstock, heart, which was also given a little shine with Crystal Effects atop a stamped, in Pool Party ink, with the stitched circle, as well as the snowflake, die cut, Oatmeal, cardstock circle.  The two were then placed atop a die cut, from glitter paper, snowflake.  That glitter paper was made for these gorgeous snowflakes!  The trio were then adhered on top of both a handmade, from red, floral, patterned paper, fan flower, as well as a die cut, from Barely Banana cardstock, star.  Foam tape separates the layers, and everything received a healthy dose of Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, before I punched and laced it with a little hemp twine, tied in a bow.
Finally, a little, kraft, pillow box, which will also be added to the Wplus9 Design Online Store, was opened up flat, die cut with the tree, backed with a sheet of acetate, and machine stitched, with red-threaded, straight, machine stitches, around the tree's edges.  I then simply hot glued it back together and filled it with some delicious, chocolate Kisses for a sweet and simple gift for the holiday season.
I'm turning my little ornament above in to Tuesday Alchemy's Challenge #34: Anything But a Card or Tag.  Thanks so much for stopping by, y'all!  Please be sure to take a minute to check out all the beauty the rest of the design team has whipped up to share with you all, and have a truly wonderful Wednesday!
