Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!  We just finished up a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and tasty cinnamon rolls.  The turkey is in the oven, and I'm putting together the finishing touches for a scrumptious, late lunch.  But I wanted to quick pop in here to share some darling, little, place cards that grace our Thanksgiving table, along with paper lanterns and weaved place mats that Ezekiel made, this year.
They're super simple, and I just couldn't love 'em any more!  Matter of fact, I even used the computer to print the names, which were stuck into the coils of memo pins, on Whisper White cardstock.  It really couldn't be any simpler.
I then embellished the pin with a length of Cherry Cobbler, seam binding ribbon, tied in a bow, and dressed it up with a purple button, laced with a hemp twine bow, as well as a stamped, in Elegant Eggplant and Ruby Red inks, on Oatmeal cardstock, hand cut, and glittered leaf, from Season of Thanks, before piercing it into the center of a mini pumpkin.
I also wanted to take a minute to share just a few of the things for which I am oh, so thankful.
  1. God's Word.  It is my guiding light and continual salvation in a very dark, confusing world and led me to my trusted Creator.
  2. My husband.  He is my rock, my confidant, my biggest fan, my friend, and my greatest treasure.
  3. My children.  They bring the sunshine to the dreariest of days and unconditionally love and even forgive me for my many mistakes.  They don't doubt my decisions and trust me to care for and raise them to be independent, spiritually wealthy, emotionally balanced, successful adults that will have so much to give back.  Thank goodness I've got the Lord on my side ;)!
  4. Family.  There is nothing like a warm hug from my Grandpa; a late night conversation, around the campfire, with my cousin; a gentle word of encouragement from my aunt; a trip to the local, farm supply store with my dad; or being taught to bake by one of the very best, my great aunt.  They are all, even those not mentioned, so treasured and loved, and I hope and pray that they never feel any different.
  5. Freedom.  I don't know what this country would look like without it nor do I ever want to find out.  With that freedom also comes my gratitude to all the people who have fought, and are still fighting, so hard and long and unwaveringly to keep it.  Thank you will never be enough.
  6. A house.  Mine is small and very broken, but it's ours, and it's so much more than just a place to live.  It's our home.  I hope that it is treasured and loved by every future family, that may live in it, as much as it is by us.
  7. My husband's job.  They are so patient and forgiving of his mistakes, flexible with his time, have taught him so much about the person he longs to become, and have gifted me the ability to stay home with my beautiful kiddos.
  8. Homeschool.  When I got my teaching degree what now seems like ages ago, I always swore that I'd never homeschool my children.  I was homeschooled in the eighth grade, and it wasn't that it damaged me or anything, but I so longed to socialize.  We are so fortunate to be homeschooling in a place that has a HUGE homeschool community and provides outlets, of all kinds, for my children to tap into the world of socializing while still receiving the many benefits of a homeschool education.
  9. Pizza.  Chocolate.  Cupcake Moscato.  Clean sheets.  Children's literature.  Horses.  Stamps.  Cheesecake... just a few of my favorite things ;).
  10. YOU!  Words cannot express my thankfulness and gratitude for your daily visits and words of encouragement.  When I started my blog, over three years ago now, I never dreamed that I would meet so many amazing people.  I wish that I could give 270 precious somethings to each and every one of you, but alas, time and money simply cannot go that far.  I do want to reward at least one of you, though, for being a faithful follower of mine.  So, the last thing I have, for you all, today, is a little, Thanksgiving giveaway.
I've put together this fabulous box, which includes, but is not limited to, (1) sei's 12"x12" Bissette Collection of six glitter papers, six pearl foil papers, 24 patterned papers, and 12 textured papers; (2) Papertrey Ink's Text-Style Holiday Cheer Collection of 36, 8"x8" sheets, featuring six patterns in two unique scales; (3) Bazzill Basic's Card Shoppe premium 8.5"x11" cardstock in 28 different colors...
(4) the December 2011 Issue of CARDS Magazine; (5) Elusive Images' Christmas Tweetings stamp set, mounted on Stamper's Best Cling Cushion Mounting Foam; (6) BoBunny Blitzen mini edgy album; (7) four rolls of Martha Stewart, Christmas paper tape; (8) bling on a roll from Recollections; (9) two yards of red, polka dot ribbon from Taylored Expressions...
(10) two sheets of Hambly hand silk-screened rub-ons; (11) tangerine jewels from Doodlebug Design, Inc.; (12) Dusty Attic dress forms; (13) Making Memories pink rosette; (14) Maya Road's 3"x3" canvas coaster album; (15) chipboard album from Maya Road; (16) self-adhesive, pearl buttons from Jenni Bowlin; (17) Maya Road's clear, acrylic, bird, coaster album...
(18) package of six, wood tickets from Prima; (19) 40 yards of Pink Paislee Daily Junque twine; (20) metal frame collection from Fancy Pants Designs; (21) Studio G cling-mounted, i-cling, rubber, birthday stamps; and (22) Homestead, die-cut, fall foliage accents from sei.
All you need to do, to be entered to win, is to leave me a comment below, telling me of the one thing you are most thankful for this holiday season.  I'll leave the giveaway open, to U.S. residents only (So sorry, guys!  Shipping is a booger!), for two weeks and announce a winner on Saturday, December 8, 2012.  Thanks again for all you do and for taking the time to read my thankful thoughts.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving!  Now, go enjoy some of that pumpkin pie ;)!  Hugs!

Wow, look at all these goodies... I'm thankful that I have a dedicated space to my crafting hobby, because I can always walk in and pick up the pieces and tinker, without having to worry about cleaning up. For the holidays, I'm so glad that I live close to my family, now with that all of us live in the same state (it's been over a decade with us having living overseas), it's such a treat to see my siblings on a more regular basis.

Jinny, I hope your thanksgiving was all you hoped it would be. Mine was not relaxing, but it was wonderful. I am so grateful for my prayers finally being answered in a way we are all enjoying. We moved here three years ago and my husband was looking for work here. He found work but was always gone, two weeks ago he finally got that opening that he had hoped for and I had prayed about. so for the first time in many years he will be home for holidays! I am also blessed to have my daughter Amy who lives minutes away, and my son, dil, and three grandchildren here for Thanksgiving! So cheers to you all and enjoy the rest of your week! congrats on your three years. I hit four in July and totally forgot to celebrate!

I love your place cards!

I am thankful I was able to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Many people travel large distances and it was wonderful to be together. I am thankful that even though I lost my job this year, we are still able to reach out and help other people who are less fortunate through our local sharing center.

My goodness! you have everything in there but the kitchen sink. LOL Thanks for the chance to win your amazing candy Jinny. :-)
My family is definitely at the top of the list. Thanksgiving was tough when hubby couldn't go on our trip at the last minute. We are rarely apart, but absence sure does make you appreciate someone all the more, especially when they're your best friend. My daughter just got engaged and I'm so thankful that she has let God mold her into the beautiful young woman she has become.

What a wonderful list of things to be thankful for. I am thankful to have a roof over my head, food in my belly (especially chocolate), clothes in my closet, a job to pay the bills, a loving husband who always supports me, a country which gives me so many freedoms, and a family that I love so very much!
