MSS Block Party

Friday, November 9, 2012

It's time for Market Street Stamps November Block Party and for all you MSS fans to show us your stuff!  I couldn't help but dive into more goodies, from our latest release, for my contribution.  Enjoy!
I started this card by stamping the bottom of a piece of ink distressed, White cardstock, in Pool Party ink, with the polka dots and the top of it, in Garden Green ink, with the holly and decking out the holly berries with Xmas Red Stickles.  I then framed the prepped piece with Kraft cardstock; adhered a "25", vintage, journaling card near its top edge and flush with the left side of the stamped piece; and machine stitched, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges.
A length of white lace was then adhered between the two stamped elements and topped with a length of Pool Party seam binding ribbon, tied, in a bow, just right of vertical center and embellished with a lone pearl.
The candle and flame were stamped, in Riding Hood Red & Daffodil Delight inks, atop a gold embossed holder, on an ink distressed, White, cardstock, die cut frame.  The halo, around the flame, was then stamped in Daffodil Delight ink; and the holly, below the candle, was stamped in Garden Green ink and given a trio of Xmas Red Stickles berries to mimic the background.
It was then flanked with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on another, candy cane, stripe, journaling card, "May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!" sentiment.  Both the sentiment, journaling card and the stamped, candle frame were then adhered, with foam tape, just above the embellished bow, to complete the look.
I'm turning this one in to The Journaling Cards Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  And now, it's your turn!  Just create any new project, using MSS stamps.  It can be anything (cards, layouts, altered items, etc.).  Be creative, and have FUN!  Then, link up your project, at the Market Street Stamps Blog, by Sunday, November 11, 2012, at 11:59 pm CST.  One randomly selected participant will win an awesome prize package full of yummy stamps and accessories!  And one show stoppin' papercrafter will be asked to join us, as a Guest Designer, for the month of December.
I'm also sneaking in a pic of my littlest, with her cutie pie hamster, just because and to help close out the week.
Now, get creating, y'all, and have an absolutely terrific weekend!
