Paper Sweeties Nov. Post Release

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Welcome back, y'all!  I hope that you've got all kinds of new, Paper Sweeties goodies on their way to your mailboxes even as this post goes live.  But we've all got one more creation to share, with you all, today.  So, I hope that you'll hang in for the ride.
I started this card by trimming the top of a piece of multicolored, polka dot, patterned paper with a strip of Santa, patterned paper, which had been stamped, in its top center, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the "Believe!" sentiment.
I then framed the prepped piece with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and machine stitched, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around their combined edges.  The rug was then created by cutting progressively smaller ovals, using a template, from color-coordinating, patterned papers; adhering them, one on top of the other, in the bottom center of the prepped piece; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between each of their connections.  I then wrapped a length of Pool Party, seam binding ribbon, around the prepped piece, where the two, base, patterned papers connect; tied it, in a bow, near the right edge of the prepped piece; and embellished it with a white, button blossom, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows, before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
The tree was die cut from Always Artichoke cardstock; ink distressed; stamped, in Always Artichoke ink, with the mistletoe images, which were later detailed with a white gel pen; and adhered, with foam tape, just to the left of the embellished bow and setting atop the rug.  It was then dressed up with aqua pearls; stamped, in Jet Black ink, on glitter paper and hand cut bows; and stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits, hand cut out, and given shine with Crystal Effects candy canes.
Finally, just below the tree, lies a quartet of stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, elements, which were colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; and adhered, with foam tape, in their respective locations.  The heart on the cookie jar, too, received a touch of Crystal Effects for shine and the cookies a few, little, Early Espresso ink, chocolate chips.
That's all, for this month, folks!  But please don't forget about our Sketch Inspiration Challenge #1.  We'd really love to see what you all can cook up, and you still have a couple of weeks to get those entries in.  Woohoo!  Then, we'll be back the close of the month, my time, to share a brand new sketch to try your hand at.  Believe it or not, my take will boast even more, never-seen-before (at least here on my blog), November stamps.  Debbie just packs the goodness into each and every release ;)!
