Paper Sweeties Sketch Inspiration #2

Friday, November 30, 2012

Hey, y'all!  We're at the close of yet another month and have a brand new Sketch Inspiration Challenge #2 up for grabs over at Paper Sweeties.
I started this card by piecing together the white embossed and pink and red, design, patterned papers; trimming their top right corner with a strip of gold, polka dot, Washi tape, which I had stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the bow images; framing them with a piece of Ruby Red cardstock; and machine stitching, with gold-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their combined edges.
I then stamped their bottom left corner, in Jet Black ink, with the "Peace on Earth" sentiment.
Their connection was trimmed with a length of red, pom-pom trim, topped by a length of sheer, white, polka dot ribbon, which was tied, in a bow, near the right edge of the prepped piece and embellished with a red button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows.
The entire prepped piece was then adhered, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face, before Emma and her wings were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a White, cardstock, die cut label and colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits.  Her robe, too, along with her shoes, was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, hand cut out, and adhered in their respective locations.  Her belt and tassels were then gold embossed.  She was also given a gold embossed halo, which was trimmed with a red flower, which was colored and dressed up with Stickles.  A little more coloring and Stickles for her tassels, as well as glitter for her wings and shoes, and she was prepped for the card face to which she was adhered with foam tape.
Okay, folks!  Here's this month's sketch to help get you started.
You have until the close of the month EST to get your takes linked up, over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running to win two, Paper Sweeties stamp sets.  Yea!  Then, we'll have a brand new sketch, for you all, beginning January 1, 2013.  Yep!  I said 2013.  It's right around the corner, y'all!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to stop by the Paper Sweeties Blog to see how some of the rest of the team, too, have interpreted the sketch.  Hugs!
