SIT #94

Happy Friday, everyone!  I'm sure that some of you are off taking advantage of those Black Friday specials, but if you're a regular follower of my blog, you know that I would never go near them.  I'd much rather wait patiently for Cyber Monday ;).  I, actually, took advantage of a couple of online specials yesterday, too.  So, I'm nestled in with my cuties, enjoying the chilly weather, sipping on mulled apple cider, and decorating the house for Christmas.  Sketches in Thyme took a break, for Thanksgiving, yesterday.  So, I'm here, today, to share one final sketch for November.
I started this layout by adhering pieces of ivory circular and red, diamond, patterned papers in the centers of the Glass Slipper, cardstock, base pages and anchoring them with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I so wish you could see the sheen in that Glass Slipper cardstock.  It's divine!  I then anchored strips of red, woodgrain, patterned paper, across the bottom of each base page, with more black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before turning my attention to the left side of the layout.
A large circle was cut from a piece of "Boy Meets Girl", patterned paper; anchored, in the top left of the ivory, circular, patterned paper, with black-threaded, straight and zig-zag stitches; and topped, over the portion of the circle that overlaps the red, woodgrain, patterned paper, with lengths of black ruler and red, stripe, Washi Tapes, running over onto the right side of the layout.  A couple of chipboard children, which were painted with Ivory White, acrylic paint, ink distressed, and glittered, ground my photographs, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock...
and a date cluster, which includes a vellum circle and a black, chevron, patterned, paper, circle burst, both of which were cut from templates; and the latter of which was topped with a red button, laced with a hemp twine bow, as well as a red, chevron, date label, which was personalized with the November 1, 2008, date...
turns our attention to the right side of the layout.
A couple more, matted photographs round out the center of the design.  I then adhered a trio of color-coordinating, Washi Tape lengths near the top right corner and dressed them up with a cut-from-a-template, clock, patterned, paper circle, which was anchored with more stitching, as well as another circle burst, topped with a black, Vintage Style button, laced with hemp twine.
The "Boy Meets Girl", title cluster was grounded with a black, chevron, patterned, paper circle, anchored with more black-threaded, machine stitching; a vellum circle; a red, leaf, patterned, paper, circle burst, which was topped with a red button, laced with hemp twine; and a journaling card, boasting the title itself and a little journaling, which reads, ...and there was no turning back.  A red, "DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG", journaling card and a clock, both of which were cut from patterned papers, prep the page for the finishing touches, which includes a "REMEMBER THIS.", sticker banner and a red, polka dot, dimensional butterfly, embellished with a couple of hemp twine bows.
Further inspiration for this challenge came from ScrapFIT's Workout #79: Tape It Up!  And here's your Challenge #94 Sketch to get you started.
Don't forget that you have until the close of the month to link up your takes, on this month's Challenge #92, Challenge #93, and/or Challenge #94, in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog, to be in the running to be named one of our December Guest Designers, as well as to win this fabulous prize from Simple Stories.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit!  Have a wonderfully blessed weekend!
