Paper Sweeties Dec. Release: Day 1

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Welcome to Paper Sweeties' December Release!  Debbie has whipped up six, all-new, winter-themed stamp sets, for you all, this month, and I just can't wait to show you a little of what they hold.  Enjoy!
I started this card by piecing together strips of spotted turquoise and pink, squares, patterned papers and trimming their connection point with a strip of neutral, snowflake, patterned paper.  I also hand cut the strip of neutral, snowflake, patterned paper across the bottom of the pink, squares, patterned paper, before framing the prepped piece with Pink Pirouette cardstock and anchoring everything with pink-threaded, straight and zig-zag stitches.  The "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, in the top right corner of the prepped piece.
A piece of cheesecloth adds just the right amount of extra texture...
before wrapping a length of pink ribbon around the horizontal center of the prepped piece; tying it, in a bow, just right of vertical center; embellishing it with a bright pink button, laced with white string; and adhering the entire prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then created a tag from White cardstock; framed it with Oatmeal cardstock; machine stitched, around its edges, with pink-threaded, straight stitches; tied a length of Pink Sorbet twine through a hole I punched in the top; and stamped Abigail, in Jet Black ink, in its center.  Abigail, as well as her clothes, which, too, were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock, was then colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits, and a few touches of glitter complete her hand cut ensemble.
Oh!  And I just had to show you what she looked like before adding her coat.  Don't you just love that snowflake on her belt?!
Further inspiration for this card came from Little Red Wagon's We Wish You a Pink Christmas Challenge.  That's all for today, folks!  But this is just the beginning.  Please don't forget to stop by the rest of the team's blogs to see what all they've whipped up, just for your viewing pleasure.  Then, I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for another little creation, boasting more of what Paper Sweeties has in store, for you, this month.  Until then, happy stamping, y'all!
