Paper Sweeties Dec. Release: Day 2

Thursday, December 13, 2012

So glad to have you back visiting for Day 2 of Paper Sweeties December release!  Let's just dive right in.  Shall we?
I stared this card by stamping the Kraft, cardstock, card face, in White ink, with the snowflake images, rounding its bottom corners, and ink distressing its edges.  A length of white lace was then adhered across the horizontal top of the card face and wrapped with a length of red, polka dot ribbon, tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face.
After adhering a die cut, from snowflake, patterned paper, rounded rectangle, horizontally, near the card face's left edge, I set it aside to prep Sophie.  She was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on another, rounded, rectangle die cut; although, this one was cut from White cardstock and ink distressed.  She was then colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits; received a few Chocolate Chip ink freckles; and was dressed with stamped, in Jet Black ink, on ivory, stitched patterned paper and hand cut boots, coat, mittens, and hat.  The mittens and buttons, too, were colored with pencils.
The "You're Snow special" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a hand cut, from patterned paper, aqua, striped frame; tucked under the bottom right edge of Sophie's prepped piece; and anchored, to the card face, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.
The sleigh was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock; colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; adhered, with foam tape, just to the left of my dressed Sweetie; and embellished with a Cricut-cut, from White cardstock, snowflake, which was embellished with a little glitter, as well as a red button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
Further inspiration for this card came from The Paper Players' Colour Challenge #125...
and create:'s December CARDS Blog Challenge, which I rotated 90 degrees to the right.
I sure hope that you're liking what you see ;)!  Please be sure to stop by the rest of the team's blogs to see what all they've cooked up today.  Then, we'll all be back, at the same time and place tomorrow, to share a little more from this month's release.  Tomorrow is also the big reveal day, and you won't want to miss that!  Can't wait to see you then!  Hugs!
