Paper Sweeties Dec. Release Party

Friday, December 14, 2012

Today's the big day y'all!  You can get your inky, little fingers on all the stamps sets you've seen here, today, even as this post goes live, in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  But if you haven't stopped by there yet, hang on, because I've worked up a layout to share.
I started this page by stamping the snowflakes, in Pool Party and Night of Navy inks, across the bottom half of the white, polka dot embossed, base page.
I then adhered several, die cut, from blue, snowflake, patterned paper, White cardstock, and vellum, snowflakes and anchored a trio of color-coordinating, patterned papers, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, some of which were tied off, to the front of the page, at their ends, over and between them.
A handful of snowflake confetti, as well as a pinked, cardstock, sticker label, topped by a punched strip of distressed, snowflake, patterned paper...
preps the page for my photo, which was framed with Whisper White cardstock, as well as a vellum, "LIFE", Polaroid frame, and embellishments, including a "NOV" Bingo card; an "ARCHIVES", cardstock sticker; and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, and hand cut snowman.  The snowman was dressed with a hat, buttons, and scarf, prepared in the same way as the snowman himself and colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits.  He also had a touch of holly, which was given a dash of shine with Crystal Effects, added to his hat.
The "FIRST SNOW" title was created from Cricut-cut, from vellum, letters, which were anchored, all around their edges, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches, as well as silver alphas.
A Nov. 30, 2010, cardstock, sticker label makes sure I never forget the date...
and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "Dreaming of a White Christmas" subtitle completes the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from The Studio's Dec. 2nd Challenge: Layers and City Crafter Challenge Blog's Week 139: Snowman Fun.
That's all for now, but we'll all be back with one, final creation, to share with you all, tomorrow.  Until then, be sure to stop by to see what the rest of the girls have whipped up, and have a blessed weekend!
