For the Love of Books

Note:  This is my second post today.  So, please be sure to scroll down to check out my previous, ScrapFriends Sketch #10 & CMS #28 post.

Just wanted to sneak in a valentine For the Love of Books post before the big day :).  And I've got one of our all-time faves to share, with you all, today.  This book is written for children ages five and up.  It is packed to the brim with the simply gorgeous and well-known, Norwegian-style drawings of Jan Brett and such a wonderful way to wish your someone special a happy Valentine's Day.
The Valentine Bears, written by Eve Bunting and illustrated by Jan Brett, is a sweet story of love.  Mrs. Bear sets her hibernation alarm, for February 14th, to create an extra special day for Mr. Bear.  She makes all the preparations necessary for their first Valentine's Day, despite their years together, from digging a scrumptious pot of honey from the deep snow and setting out a bowl full of crunchy, dried beetles and bugs to making a special, valentine sign and pulling out the valentines she made for him in the summer.  The only thing she doesn't plan on is not being able to wake Mr. Bear.  She shakes, and she pokes.  She pulls, and she shouts, but he isn't budging.  What she doesn't know is that Mr. Bear has a valentine surprise of his very own.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read, and I hope you all have an extra special Valentine's Day!  Hugs!
