SIT #104

Thursday, March 7, 2013

Hey, y'all!  I'm here today to share Sketches in Thyme's first sketch of the month, specifically Challenge #104.  I just adore these pics of my baby girl, who, by the way, is feeling so much better.  She's still weak.  It hit fast and hard, but it must've just been a 24 hour thing.  Thank you so much for all your well wishes!  They worked ;)!  Anyway, she has more faces than anybody I know.  So, without further adieu, enjoy!
I started this layout by anchoring both an aqua, rings, patterned paper and a sheet of vellum, near the bottom right corner of the yellow, stripe, base page, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then adhered a white, paper doily near left center, before matting my photos with Whisper White cardstock and adhering the created grid down the center of the layered papers.  The doily was then topped with a perforated, kraft check, as well as a vellum envelope, closed by a yellow, cardstock, sticker star, which was embellished with a red button, laced with Baker's Twine; journaling tag, used to journal, You're so animated, even while practicing memory verses during dinner :); yellow, scalloped, February 24, 2012, label; and linked, Whisper White, cardstock hearts, cut with my Cameo.
Those hearts carry through, under the photograph grid, to the right side of the layout, where I tucked both a link of blue, vintage, gang tags, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow...
and "SPRING love", cardstock sticker under it.  It was flanked with a "things I LOVE about YOU" sticker and filled in with a vintage Flatback, dressed up with a couple of green, leaf sequins.
Looking back to the left side of the photo grid, I created the "WORDS 2 live by" title from red, alpha stickers; white chipboard and yellow, glitter Thickers; and white, ABC stickers.  An aqua, cardstock, sticker arrow, which I covered in a healthy dose of Dazzling Diamonds, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this layout came from Color Me Scrappy's Challenge #33 color palette.  I didn't use the sketch and realize that's disqualifying me, but I just LOVED this palette to bits and wanted to share.  Thanks, ladies!
I'm also adding this one to Challenge Me Happy's Challenge #41: Anything Goes.  And here's this week's sketch to get you started.
Don't forget that you have until the close of the month, on Sunday, March 31, 2013, to link up your takes, in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog, in order to be in the running to guest design with us during the month of May.  Also, be sure to stop by and congratulate our Top 3 For February.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
