Wplus9 April/May Release: Day 1

Note: If you've come here looking for my CCG240 post, please scroll down.

Hey, y'all!  I'm so excited to finally be here sharing a couple of sweet cards, boasting lots of new stuff from Wplus9 Design's April/May Release!  In case you missed them, Dawn and Kerrianne both have shared lots of gorgeous projects, using the seven new stamp sets and five new dies, so please be sure to stop by their respective links above, and be on the look-out for more from Cristina next week and the rest of the Design Team in the weeks to come.  Now, how about those cards?  Oh!  And remember that I always include the links to anything relating to Wplus9, including all these brand spankin' new goodies, in the {Supplies & Tools} section, at the bottom of my posts.
I started this card by stamping the Quilt Prints background, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock and filling in the center portions with the varying stamped, in Pretty in Pink, Pool Party, Bashful Blue, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder inks, prints.  This set comes with stamps to fill in those portions that I've left white, too, but the look I've created reminds me of a beautiful, old quilt my Grandma used to have.
I then topped the stamped piece with a piece of ivory, stitched, patterned paper, which I had stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "MY DEAR FRIEND Get Well Wishes" sentiment; framed the prepped piece with Oatmeal cardstock; and machine stitched, around its edges, with coral-threaded, zig-zag stitches.  The center was then trimmed with a length of scalloped lace, which was topped with a yummy, aqua ribbon, tied in a knot and embellished with a simple, safety pin.
After the prepped piece was adhered, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face, I stamped the Pretty Patches: Umbrella image, in Jet Black ink, on a coordinating, White, cardstock, umbrella die cut.  The canopy and the handle of the umbrella itself is separated, just in case you'd like to stamp them in different colors, too.  Dawn thinks of everything ;)!  I then filled in the spaces of the canopy with more patchwork images, stamped in Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Wisteria Wonder inks, before adhering it, with foam tape, just below the sentiment and embellishing it with a purple button blossom, laced with a hemp twine bow.
Okay, y'all, ready for another?  This one shows off not only a trio of new stamp sets, but also our new Cranberry Crush cardstock and ink.  Yum!  Check it out!
I started this card by stamping the paisley background, in Cranberry Crush, stamped-off Basic Grey, Night of Navy, and Baja Breeze inks, on a piece of ink distressed, Oatmeal cardstock.
It's center was then trimmed with a die-cut, from gray, gingham, patterned paper, using a new Timeless Tags 2 die, tag.  It was cut in two to make it stretch just a bit longer behind the sentiment and embellished with an Oatmeal cardstock ring (LOVE that this ring works with our Timeless Tags 1 die, too!) and laced with a length of hemp twine, which was wrapped around both denim and Pool Party bows and secured, in a bow itself, through a gray button.
The "SISTER IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, make a wish!" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of aqua, diamond, patterned paper; trimmed, across its bottom edge, with a strip of vellum, die-cut with the scalloped edge; and secured, near the base of the split tag, across its top and bottom edges, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then framed the prepped piece with Cranberry Crush cardstock and machine stitched, around its edges, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches, before adhering it, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.  The butterfly was then die cut from a navy, polka dot, patterned paper, vellum, and Cranberry Crush cardstock; pieced together; adhered, just above the sentiment, in the center of the top portion of the gingham tag; and embellished with a touch of glitter.
That's all, for today, folks!  But I'll be back tomorrow with a layout to share and then again, late Wednesday, with a fun way to wrap up a baked good and a card to match, all using more goodies from our April/May Release.  I sure hope you'll join me for all the fun.  Thanks so much for peeking in, and have a super week!
