CCG244 & 245

I'm here today to share a duo of color palettes from Color Combos Galore.  We got a little behind but don't want you all to miss out on a single day to create.  So, before I reveal them, let me share how I was inspired by one.  Enjoy!
I started this layout by cutting a column of feathers, from a strip of multi-colored, floral, patterned paper, using my Cameo and anchoring it, just right of vertical center, to the aqua, polka dot, base page, with brown-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.  I then hand cut a couple of color-coordinating pennants and anchored them, over the die-cut strips left side, with brown-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before matting my photos with Whisper White cardstock and adhering them, with foam tape, in the center of the pennants.
The foam tape stuck to the photo strip was also strategically placed to create a pocket for tucking in the informational flyer, which also can easily be removed for viewing and serves as my "OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL & MUSEUM" title.
A journaling tag, upon which I wrote, This memorial reminds us of such a somber moment in U.S. history, but I love that the 80+ yr. Survivor Tree still stands as a tribute to renewal and rebirth, was adhered just below the title.
I then stamped the vintage camera and frame image, in More Mustard ink, on a notebook, patterned paper; filled it in with the April 19, 1995 date and 9:02 am time stamp, which stand for the day and time of the bombing; hand cut it out; ink distressed its edges; and tucked it under the bottom right edge of the photo panel.  A "today" cardstock sticker rounds out its bottom edge.
A couple of Cameo-cut and ink distressed leaves, paired with a metal, leaf trinket and all bundled up with a yellow button, laced with a hemp twine bow, flank the camera stamp's left side.  Finally, I tucked a turquoise, "date:" 10.23.12 label under the bundle's bottom left edge and tossed a bursting handful of gemstones about.
Further inspiration for this layout came from Paper Stories' May Sketch Challenge.
And here's Inspiration Board #244...
AND Inspiration Board #245, which prompted the creation above.  I was inspired by Inspiration Photo #1 to Focus on Trend: Feathers and by Inspiration Photos #2 and #3 to incorporate circular elements in the form of polka dots, buttons, and gemstones.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please be sure to also stop by the forum link above to get all the challenge details for yourself, and I hope to see you all right back here tomorrow.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lovely! I love that you included the brochure in the layout. The fluster of feathers and the tag are such a great balance, the stitching and the black outline are great accents, a fantastic layout!
