Paper Sweeties Sketch Inspiration #8

Friday, May 31, 2013

Hey, y'all!  A new month means a new, Paper Sweeties sketch to inspire your latest purchases.  Woohoo!  Here's my take.
I started this card by stamping a piece of White cardstock, in Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery inks, with the blossoms and leaves; creating a series of four, vertical, score lines across the piece; topping it with a strip of yellow, polka dot, patterned paper; ink distressing their combined edges; framing them with a piece of Certainly Celery cardstock; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their edges.
After adding a few touches of glitter to the pink blossoms, I then stamped the center of the polka dot strip, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the "Make Today Beautiful" sentiment.
Before the entire thing was adhered, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face, the space between the two patterned papers was then trimmed with a length of white, scalloped lace, as well as a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and embellished with a brown, crystal heart.
Further inspiration for this card came from Life. Paper. Scrapbook.'s May Colour Challenge #4.
And here's this month's Sketch Inspiration Challenge #8 to get you started.
You have until the close of the month, on Sunday, June 30, 2013, to link up your takes, over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running to win a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  I hope you all have a fantastic June!  Hugs!
