TCM: Let's Face It

Sunday, May 19, 2013

So happy to be back sharing yet another new, May, stamp set from The Craft's Meow.  This one is called Let's Face It and is packed to the brim with with lots of goodies to create faces of all kinds, not to mention great, coordinating sentiments.  Check out how I was inspired.
I started this card by stamping a piece of ivory, text, patterned paper, in Chocolate Chip ink, with a row of hats; adhering a wide strip of soft blue, polka dot, patterned paper just above that stamped row; framing it with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock; and machine-stitching, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges and, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, to either side of the blue, paper strip.
A length of hemp twine was then wrapped, horizontally, around the card face, three times and tied, in a double bow, near its left edge, before adhering the entire thing, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then created the frame by stacking five layers of die-cut, White cardstock one on top of the other, ink distressing their edges, and giving it a little shine with glitter.  It was then backed with another White, cardstock, die cut piece, which had been stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the gorgeous, woman image, which I colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits.  She was then given a stamped, on a vintage, yellow fabric, wrap and stamped, on vellum, glasses.  Both of the latter were stamped in Jet Black ink and hand cut out, before the frame was adhered, with foam tape, to the right of the hemp twine bow.
Finally, I stamped the word bubble and "I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, hand cut it out, and adhered it with foam tape.
Thanks so much for stopping by!   Don't forget to leave some love, on the TCM Store Blog, by 8 pm PST tonight, for your chance to win today's stamp set.  And have a terrific work week, y'all!
