Happy Monday, friends!  Other than the craziness that was our yard sale, we had a pretty uneventful weekend.  That gave us time to regroup and prepare ourselves for the week ahead, though, which not only includes a holiday, but also my hubby and my twelfth anniversary and Ezekiel's tenth birthday party.  I'm super pleased with the ratio of what we were able to sell and what we were able donate and just love that I'm getting my basement back.  Not that it's a space in our home that we spend much time in, but to be able to go down there to put something away or do laundry or whatnot is so much more restful with all the open space we've accrued.  Yay!  So, I know you all didn't come here to read my rambles.  How about a page for Color Combos Galore's latest Inspiration Board?  Here goes.
I started this layout by piecing the edges of a piece of Whisper White cardstock with scraps of color-coordinating, patterned papers to get a bit of a quilted frame.  I then machine stitched, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between each paper connection; fit a square of ink distressed, Whisper White cardstock into its center, as well as a strip of gray, star, patterned paper and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the robots, strip of Oatmeal cardstock, to which I also applied a bit of watercolor and topped with a length of red, polka dot, Washi Tape...
and anchored everything with red-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches, including an aqua "date:" 02/12/08 flag, which I also partially stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "February 12" postage.
Before applying my horizontal strips, I prepped the background by stamping it in Pool Party ink with the Vintage Notepad background, in Jet Black ink with the "love" definition, and in Brilliant Blue ink with the paint splatters.  I then die-cut  a piece of ink distressed, Pool Party cardstock with the scattered stars and layered it, behind my photographs, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock, along with a piece of chevron vellum, as well as a white, paper doily and a kraft, "IMPORTANT DETAILS" tag, which was laced with white string.
A fabric-covered button; kraft button, laced with white string; "YOU'RE AWESOME!" flair; aqua & gray polka dot, cardstock, sticker tab, which was grounded with a heart, epoxy brad; bundle of red thread; and red button, laced with white string...
prep the page for my "Mmm! yummy" title, which was created from red, glitter letters and a Cameo-cut, from Whisper White cardstock, and glittered "yummy".
A handful of blue, sequin stars, as well as a few of the Pool Party, cardstock stars, cut from the ink distressed panel, and a stamped, in Real Red ink, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand cut, "Special Delivery" arrow, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this layout came from City Crafter Challenge Blog's Week 165: Cottage Quilt...
and PageMaps' Spellbinders Sketch Contest.
And here's this month's first Inspiration Board #246 to get you started.
I was inspired by Inspiration Photo #1 to Focus on Design: Framed Background.  In addition, I drew inspiration from the stars on the chips in Inspiration Photo #1; the red, glitter alphas in Inspiration Photo #2; and the darling robots in Inspiration Photo #3.  I also couldn't help but add in a stamped postal date as inspired by Inspiration Photo #4.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!

Your pages are always amazing, but it's so fun to look at them cause they remind me of I Spy books. It's all the little bits and pieces tucked here and there that are so fun to find like the string. Fantastic layout GF! Hugs!

So glad the sale went well. I understand the peace of decluttering! Your page is wonderful! You have such a way of putting all the elements together perfectly. I thought of you today when I attempted to mix some papers together on a card, I wished you were here!
