TCM: Congratulations

Friday, July 12, 2013

Happy weekend, y'all!  I hope you have lots of fabulous plans for enjoying the summer sunshine.  We've got a free weekend in what seems like forever, and I'm already beginning to fill it up with some much-needed crafty time.  Yay!  So, anyway, I know you all didn't come here to read my rambles ;).  I've got a pretty, little number featured on The Craft's Meow's Store Blog today.  Check it out!
I started this card by piecing a sheet of aqua, circles, patterned paper into the center of a a piece of White cardstock and stamping it, near the bottom of the prepped piece, just right of horizontal center, in Jet Black ink, with the decorative bar.  The "Congratulations" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a hand-cut, vellum pennant and anchored to the left edge of the prepped piece with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches that frame the entire prepped piece.
I then wrapped it, horizontally, with a length of red, gingham ribbon; tied it, in a bow, near the prepped piece's left edge; and embellished it with a sheer, white, polka dot ribbon, tied in a bow, as well as a crystal button, laced with a hemp twine bow, before adhering the entire thing, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then stamped the frame, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of debossed, white, floral, patterned paper; filled in its left side with a pretty, little, paper-pieced bloom; and adhered it, with foam tape, tucked under the sentiment pennant and just to the right of the embellished bow.  A bursting handful of clear gemstones complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #174: Cherry Pie.
Thanks so much for stopping by, y'all!  Have a super blessed weekend!

Paper piecing is not one of my favorite things, but I am guessing that is because when I do it things don't look like this! Wow stunning here Jinny!
