TCM: Mabelle R-O Blog Hop

Saturday, July 6, 2013

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's Mabelle R-O Blog Hop, y'all!  You should be coming here from Jessica Fink's Blog, but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning of the hop or simply got lost along the way, a complete list of hop participants can be found on the TCM Store Blog.  So, in getting right to it, I picked up Sweet Taste of Summer and created this.
I started this card by die-cutting the top of a piece of soft, green, polka dot, patterned paper with an inverted, scallop die to serve as my waves and ink distressing across its top edge.  I then topped it with a piece of yellow, polka dot, patterned paper; framed them both with a piece of Oatmeal cardstock; and machine stitched, with green-threaded, straight stitches, around their edges and, additionally, in a couple of the corners, before stamping the "Make a Splash!" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, vertically, along the left side of the prepped piece.
A length of orange, saddle-stitch ribbon was then wrapped, around the prepped piece, just right of vertical center; tied, in a bow, near its top edge; and embellished with a yellow button, laced with a hemp twine bow, before the entire thing was adhered, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then stamped the little lady, as well as her bucket, in Jet Black ink, on an ink distressed, die-cut, rounded rectangle; colored her in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; paper-pieced bits of her outfit; and raised her paper-pieced bucket up with foam tape.  A few dots and clear gemstones, as well as a little, yellow glitter, prep her for the card face to which she was adhered, just below the embellished bow, with foam tape.  Gosh, I just love this little gal to bits, and these pics simply aren't doing her justice.  Sigh.
Color inspiration for this card came from the Tuesday Trigger: Scene in Tangerine in the Moxie Fab World.
Now, off you go to Julie Ranae's Blog to continue your hop.  Commenting by 11:59 pm PST, on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, on each of the blog hop posts, makes you eligible to win a stamp set of your choice.  You are not required to leave comments on each blog, but your chances of winning do increase.  So, be sure to leave lots of love along the way.
