Paper Sweeties Designer's Birthday Hop

Note: If you've come here looking for my CCG Flashback Week 1 post, please scroll down.

Hey, y'all!  It's Paper Sweeties first birthday, and we're celebrating with a three day long Designer's Birthday Hop!
You should be coming here from the talented Paper Sweeties creator and owner Debbie Marcinkiewicz's Blog, but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, I've included a full list of today's hop participants below.  Without further adieu, here's what I was inspired to cook up just for the occasion.  Oh!  And I'm also linking this one up to the Birthday Party Ensemble Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Let's get a little closer look.  Shall we?
I started this card by piecing a trio of patterned papers onto the Kraft, cardstock, card base and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their combined edges, as well as between their connections.  I then stamped the bottom center of the design, in Jet Black ink, with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.
A strip of yummy lace was adhered across the center, patterned, paper panel and topped with a length of mint, fringed ribbon, which was wrapped, twice, around the card face; tied, in a bow, near its left edge; and embellished with a sheer, turquoise, polka dot, ribbon bow, as well as a turquoise button, laced with a white, chord bow.
Finally, I stamped Abigail, in Jet Black ink, on a White, cardstock, rounded-rectangle die cut.  Her clothing was stamped on a scrap piece of White cardstock.  Then, everything was colored in with pencils and mineral spirits, and her clothing was hand cut and pieced into its present location.  A few, Chocolate Chip, ink freckles, as well as a touch of glitter for her shoes, and a pink dahlia prep her for the center of the card face, to which she was adhered with foam tape.
And I just love how effortlessly it is to use the card to dress up a simple, gift bag with Laurie's Decorative die, which I die-cut out of a bright pink, text, patterned paper.
A handmade, flower tag, secured to the bag with white string and a bit more sheer, turquoise, polka dot ribbon, dresses it up even more.  The flower and its center were die-cut from Strawberry Slush and White cardstock respectively.  The latter was then stamped, in Crisp Cantaloupe ink, with the floral rings and topped with a coral button, laced with a bit of white string, tied in a bow.  Before it was secured to the center of the flower itself with foam tape, I tucked a scrap of cheesecloth behind it.  Finally, I stamped the leaves, in Pistachio Pudding ink, on Pistachio Pudding cardstock; hand cut them out; and adhered them, in layers, to the back side of the flower tag.
Another one of these little flowers was adhered to the top of a tall, white candle (A second, flower die-cut backs it to make sure it won't be going anywhere.); grounded with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "Wish BIG!", Washi pennant; and stuck in the center of a yummy, pumpkin cupcake...
which was wrapped with a die-cut, from more of that mint, floral, patterned paper, Cupcake Wrapper and embellished with a Strawberry Slush, cardstock bow.
A third flower dresses up the center of a drink wrap, which was made by layering a strip of turquoise, floral, patterned paper in the center of a slightly larger strip of White cardstock and machine stitching down both its long sides.
A stamped, in Jet Black ink, "Time to Celebrate", Washi pennant dresses up a simple, drinking straw...
and completes a delicious and pretty, birthday snack.
Now, off you go to the talented Amy Tsuruta's Blog to continue your hop.  And don't forget that Debbie is giving one lucky August participant the entire Paper Sweeties August Release (a $50 retail value).  So, (1) follow the Paper Sweeties Blog, (2) like and share us on our Paper Sweeties Facebook Fan Page, and (3) comment on any August Paper Sweeties Blog post to let Debbie know that you've done the above.
