TCM: Folk Art Blooms & Jar of Sunshine

Sunday, August 18, 2013

It's Day 3 of The Craft's Meow's August Release, y'all, and we're still on a roll!  Today we've got two, new, stamp sets, from the amazing Nina Brackett, to share with you all.  Enjoy!
I started this card by stamping all the blooms and leafy images, in Pretty in Pink, Crisp Cantaloupe, London Fog, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party inks, in the top right corner of a piece of Oatmeal cardstock.
A couple tiny, yellow blooms trickle down to the stamped, in London Fog ink, "thanks ever so much" sentiment, which just so happens to be from Day 1's Cottage Garden.  Nina's Folk Art Blooms is sentiment free, but I'm a sentiment kind of girl, so I borrowed ;).
I then framed the entire thing with a piece of Basic Gray cardstock; adhered it to the Crisp Cantaloupe, cardstock, card face; and machine stitched, with peach-threaded, straight stitches, doubling up in a couple of the corners, around its edges.  The butterflies were all die-cut from vellum, had their wings tipped in silver glitter, and were layered, for dimension and depth, before being studded with rows of pearls.
And here's a little taste of Jar of Sunshine.
I started this card by piecing together the vintage and navy, polka dot, patterned papers; adhering them to a piece of Ruby Red cardstock; and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their combined edges and between their connection.  A piece of scrumptious lace, as well as a length of Baker's Twine, wrapped, three times, around the prepped piece and tied, in a bow, laced through a button, near the right edge, prep it for the Kraft, cardstock, card face to which it was adhered with foam tape.
I then stamped the jar, flower, and its bow, in Jet Black ink, respectively, on aqua plaid and pink, designer, patterned papers, as well as White cardstock.  They were all hand cut out and pieced together, just to the left of the embellished twine, with foam tape.  The bow also received a healthy dose of glitter, before the "A LITTLE SOMETHING JUST 4 YOU" sentiment was stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, on what I made to appear as though it were a Dennison label.  It was stamped, in Riding Hood Red ink, on White cardstock, hand cut out, and placed in its present position.
Finally, I stamped the jar lid, in Chocolate Chip ink, on Kraft cardstock; hand cut it; and adhered it, with foam tape, just to the bottom left of the jar itself.
Don't forget to stop by the TCM Store Blog and leave a comment, by 8 pm PST tomorrow, for your chance to win today's goodies.  Then, we'll all be back tomorrow for that final peek before our New Release Blog Hop.  Thanks so much for dropping by, and have a wonderful work week, y'all!

Oooo they're both great but the range of color on the first one really appeals to me. If I had stamped with that many colors it would look like a muddles mess. LOL Beautiful cards Jinny!
