TCM: New Release Blog Hop

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Yay!  It's time for The Craft's Meow's August New Release Blog Hop, y'all!  You should be coming here via Jessica Fick's Blog, but if you didn't, got lost along the way, or simply want to start at the beginning, you can find the complete list of hop participants on the TCM Store Blog.  So, let's just get started.  Shall we?
I started this card by stamping the sunflower images, in Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, and Chocolate Chip inks, on a piece of text, patterned paper...
grounding it with a strip of yellow, polka dot, patterned paper; and trimming the space between the two with a punched strip of Whisper White cardstock.  I then adhered the prepped piece to the Kraft, cardstock, card face; machine stitched, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges; and wrapped a length of wide, yellow ribbon, which was tied, in a bow, near the left edge, horizontally, between the polka dot and punched strips.
Finally, I stamped the "just a note" sentiment, in Chocolate Chip ink, on an Oatmeal, cardstock, banner die cut and grounded its left end with a Vintage, yellow button, laced with hemp twine.
I've got one more card, using all but one of this month's new stamp sets, if you have a little extra time.
I started this card by trimming the bottom edge of a piece of pink, polka dot, patterned paper with a strip of multi-colored, patterned paper, which had been stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "with love on this Special Day" sentiment.
I then stamped a row of little blossoms, in Rose Red ink, across the top of the prepped piece; framed it with Rose Red cardstock; and machine stitched, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges.
A length of white, seam binding ribbon was then wrapped, around the prepped piece, between the connection of the two, patterned papers; tied, in a dressy bow, near the left edge; and embellished with an aqua button, laced with a hemp twine bow, before the entire thing was adhered, with foam tape, to the White, cardstock, card face.
I then masked off both the top of the jar and its label and stamped it, along with the tag and its "xoxo" sentiment, as well as the butterfly trails, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of vellum.  The jar lid was silver embossed.  The butterflies were embossed using Pool Party powder, before being studded with silver gemstones.  The entire thing was then hand cut out and adhered in the top center of the card face.  One last little butterfly, prepared in the same way as the two within the jar, was hand cut out and adhered, just at its center, resting on top of the jar lid, to complete the look.
And here's a look at all the wonderful treats TCM has in store, for you all, this month.
