TCM: Anything Goes Blog Hop

Friday, September 6, 2013

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's Anything Goes Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Jessica Fick's Blog, but if you didn't or want to start at the beginning, a complete list of hop participants can be found on the TCM Store Blog.  I played with a couple of Clare's new stamps, from our August Release, and came up with this.
I started this card by piecing a bit of purple, polka dot, patterned paper, along with some pink, polka dot, patterned paper, onto a sheet of White cardstock; adhered it to the Kraft, cardstock, card face; and machine stitched, with pink-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their combined edges.
I then wrapped a length of Lilac Lace, seam binding ribbon, horizontally, around the card face; tied it, in a double bow, near the left edge; and embellished it with a large pearl, backed with a white, chord bow.  That yummy, seam binding ribbon was a gift from the talented Debbie Marcinkiewicz.  She sells it, in four yard bundles, in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe, for a mere $3, here.  Thank you, Debbie!
The center, White, cardstock panel was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the potted geraniums on the bench, as well as a couple of butterflies.  All images were colored with pencils and mineral spirits, and the butterflies' centers were doused in a hint of glitter.
I then spritzed over everything with Crumb Cake ink, before stamping the "thanks so much" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of vellum and anchoring it, to the stamped, cardstock panel, with pink-threaded, straight, machine stitches, framing its edges.  Before adhering it, with foam tape, in the center of the prepped piece, I backed it with a swatch of cheesecloth to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #182: Sweet Summertime.
Now, off you go to Karen Baker's Blog to continue your hop.  We're also issuing another challenge for all of you to join us again this month.  You will have until 8 pm PST, on Sunday, September 15, 2013, to link up your new-created, anything goes projects, using at least one TCM stamp.  One randomly-drawn winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to the TCM Online Store.  Good luck!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a truly blessed weekend!
