TCM: Holiday Poinsettia & Inside Christmas

Saturday, October 19, 2013

I hope you're all enjoying your weekends!  Ours has been absolutely beautiful, so we've been trying to enjoy all the fresh, fall air that we can, because our weather people are promising frosty weather next week.  But you didn't come here to talk about the weather.  Did you ;)?  And we can always talk more about the weekend later.  I've got creations, inspired by The Craft's Meow's final, two, October, stamp sets, to share with you all, today, beginning with Nina Brackett's Holiday Poinsettia.  Enjoy!
I started this card by stamping the poinsettia image, with its scrolled frame, in Jet Black ink, on a vintage, newspaper, patterned paper; coloring it in with pencils and mineral spirits; embellishing its center with a single, yellow gemstone; trimming its right edge with a strip of turquoise, medallion, patterned paper; and securing it, to the Pool Party, cardstock, card face, with red-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
The "HOLIDAY THANKS" sentiment was then stamped, in Cherry Cobbler ink, on a piece of ink distressed, Oatmeal cardstock and pieced into the scrolled frame...
before I wrapped a length of gingham ribbon, vertically, around the card face, between the two patterned papers; tied it in a bow; and embellished it with a sheer, ivory ribbon, tied in a bow and a red button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
I've also worked up a little number, boasting a beautiful greeting and scrolled bar from a sentiment only stamp set, by Karen Baker, known as Inside Christmas.
I started this card by stamping both the "May your Christmas..." sentiment and the scrolled bar, in Jet Black ink, in the bottom center of the wreath, patterned paper; framing it with a piece of Cupid's Bow cardstock; machine stitching, with red-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges; and adhering it, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then die cut the wreath from a green, medallion, patterned paper; ink distressed its edges; and dressed it up with a trio of holly gemstones, a number of chipboard elements, a wood veneer heart, and a die-cut, felt bow.
The latter was adhered in the bottom center of the wreath; embellished with a white button, laced with a white, chord bow; and flanked with a couple of branches, die-cut from White cardstock and glittered.
That completes all of my peeks for this month, friends, but I'll be back tomorrow to share a mix of nearly everything you've seen here over the last few days for our New Release Blog Hop.  Until then, be sure to stop by the TCM Store Blog and leave a comment, by 8 pm PST tomorrow, for your chance to win today's stamp sets.  Have a blessed Sunday!  Hugs!
