Wplus9 Oct./Nov. Release: Day 3

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Hey, y'all!  Today I'm showing off the last of our Wplus9 Design October/November Release treats, including Pretty Poinsettias and its coordinating die, Strictly Sentiments 3, and the Stitched Holiday Icon die.  Enjoy!
I started this card by piecing together a strip of Santa and red, leafy, patterned paper; framing them with Cupid's Bow cardstock; and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches, around their edges.  I then stamped the "joyeux noel" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, just above their connection and right of vertical center and trimmed the connection below them with a length of white, scalloped lace, topped with a soft green, fringed ribbon, tied, in a bow, just to the bottom left of the sentiment.
The pretty poinsettia was then stamped, in Ruby Red, Real Red, and Cherry Cobbler inks, on a White, cardstock die cut; embellished with a yellow gemstone; flanked with a couple of evergreen branches, stamped in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip inks, on White, cardstock die cuts; backed with a bit of cheesecloth; and adhered, with foam tape, just to the left of the ribbon bow.
Don't you just love the details Dawn has tied into these sets?!  I'm still in awe.  Got time for one more?
I started this card by piecing together the red mitten and multicolored, stripe, patterned papers in the center of the White, cardstock, card face; stamping the partial "PEACE" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of vellum, which was adhered near the bottom of the combined papers; white embossing the completed "to you and yours" sentiment over the prior; and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches, around their combined edges.
I then wrapped a length of white, seam binding ribbon, under the sentiment strip, around the vertical center of the prepped piece; tied it, in a dressy bow, near the top edge of the card face; and embellished it with a pink button, laced with a Baker's Twine bow, as well as a snowflake sequin.
The striped frame was stamped, in White ink, on a Kraft, cardstock die cut and tucked just below the embellished bow and under the sentiment strip.  The frame was then filled in with a die cut, from White cardstock, and glittered snowman, which I embellished with a die cut, from Ballet Slippers cardstock, scarf; snowflake transparency; and a couple of stamped, in Bashful Blue ink, on White cardstock and hand cut mittens.  The mittens were also dressed up with a couple of pink buttons, laced with lengths of Baker's Twine, tied together, and strung under the button in the center of the embellished bow.
And that's the end of day three, friends.  I'll be back with the full reveal, as well as a little something else I've cooked up, tomorrow.  In the meantime, I'd LOVE to know what you're smitten with right now, as would the rest of the team.  So, please be sure to stop by and leave them some love.  Don't forget to leave a comment on the Wplus9 Design Blog for your chance to win today's release stamp sets, too.  Thanks for peeking in!  Have a blessed day!
