The Studio Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Sunday, November 10, 2013

It's a beautiful day!  My hubby got home in time for dinner Friday night and has been with us all weekend.  By the time this post goes live, he'll have about 12 more hours with us before heading back up north for another week of work.  So glad that he can come home some weekends to help with my kiddos, do some of the yard work, and just be around to hug and to hold.  Plus, he's got to get his clothes washed and load up on more frozen meals, that I whipped up all week, so we don't have to pay for lots of dinners out, which is healthier for him anyway.  Right, baby ;)?  Anyway, I've got a page, for The Studio's bi-monthly challenge, to share, with you all, today.  Enjoy!
I started this layout by adhering two strips of heart, patterned papers together, with gold, polka dot Washi, to create the base page.  I then secured them further together with navy-threaded, straight, machine stitches, anchoring the pieces of my pie chart, which were hand cut using a stencil as a template, together, before matting my photos with Whisper White cardstock and adhering them in their respective locations.  A woodgrain heart; couple bits of hand-cut word art; "Date:" 4/24/12 and "WONDERFUL", cardstock stickers; yellow tag, laced with brown twine; and bird trinket, anchored with a few white, string, hand stitches, round out the top right corner of my photo grid.
The grid itself was then anchored with a quartet of hand-cut, color-coordinating, paper strips, the top of which was grounded with more of those yummy, navy-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
A couple more bits of gold, polka dot Washi, as well as a few, gold, chevron rubons...
and a "My Treasures", cardstock, sticker tab...
prep the page for my "100% always LOVED BY ME" title, which was created from a Cameo-cut, cardstock "100%" and "always", as well as circle alphas and kraft, chipboard Thickers.  A bit of "{heart} Mother" word art completes the look.
Further inspiration for this layout came from Color Me Scrappy's Challenge #49 palette...
and Life. Paper. Scrapbook.'s November Sketch Challenge.
And here's The Studio's Tic Tac Toe Challenge board to get you off and running in the right direction.  I went with glitter, Washi, and chipboard, vertically, down the left side of the board.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all this month's challenge details, as well as to be thoroughly inspired by the Design Team.  Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web!  Have a wonderful week!

OMG!! LOVE these pictures and the FUN Title!! Such a NEAT Design!! So HAPPY you got to spend the weekend together and that your able to feed your man with Frozen Homemade food!! =) My guys would starve to death before they'd eat fast food!! Beckett will actually BEG to go home and eat rather than eating out!! Makes me feel pretty good too!! Not many kiddos would pass on Fast Food in favor of homemade these days which is pretty sad I think!! Anyway, THANKS for sharing and I hope you all have a Fabulous Week!! =)
