SEM Christmas & Pinspired Challenge #23

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Morning, y'all!  Just wanted to share those tags I promised you in yesterday's post.  This first one was duplicated enough times to dress a bunch of apple butter jars for our neighbors and mailman.
I started this tag by stamping the house, in Pool Party ink, in the center of a die-cut, from White cardstock, snowflake; grounding it with the stamped, in Real Red ink, "from our family to yours" sentiment; and filling in the little heart with glittered, Real Red ink.  I then punched a hole in the top and laced it through with a length of Baker's Twine, wrapped around the jar itself.  A fringed, red ribbon, tied in a bow and embellished with a red, heart button, laced with more Baker's Twine, completes the look.
This second one, too, was duplicated for jars for my hubby's coworkers.  There have been a lot of problems he's had to face with his new job, most of which he was aware of before taking the position; but I couldn't be any more proud of him for being willing to take it all on in order to leave a job that was daily challenging who he was in Christ behind.  I know that, even though it's been a difficult start for us all, the Lord will bless him abundantly for choosing to put Him first.
I started this tag by ink distressing the edges of an Oatmeal, cardstock circle.  I then stamped it, in Antique Linen Distress Ink, with the sheet music background, in Pool Party ink with the bells, in Old Olive ink with the evergreen branch, and in Real Red ink with the "Let us adore Him" sentiment.  Both this and the sentiment above come from Julie Day's Reason for the Season stamp set, which she designed for Market Street Stamps.  I just love the fonts to bits!  I so miss playing with that girl's designs.  Sigh.  A little, red gemstone preps it for the jar, to which it was secured, through a punched hole, with Baker's Twine.
The backs of both tags were stamped, in Real Red ink, with a little "FROM:" to lead into a personal message from my family.  I left the "TO:" off to make them easier to deliver.  Everyone is getting the same thing anyway ;).  And I was so excited to find these simple stickers, for labeling, in the canning aisle, this year.  They wash off super easy, too, if you wanted to stick them to the jars themselves.  Woohoo!
Inspiration for these tags came from Scrapping Everyday Miracles' Christmas Challenge and Pinspired's Challenge #23.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  We've been having unusually warm weather in my neck of the woods, which makes it so much easier to get out and about and shoo my kiddos out to play.  LOVE it!  So, I'm sure we'll be taking advantage of that today.  Then, we're looking forward to my hubby being home for our first weekend, since he left, with nothing on the docket but being together.  LOVE it more!  Have a good one, friends!

Your neighbors are going to miss your sweet family Jinny and your yummy treats!! Yes, God will take care of your husband for putting him first. It's was the best choice for him. My hubby often corrects co-workers who take God's name in vain. Many of them are now correcting others! It does his heart good to hear it ;)
