Geoffrey Groundhog Predicts the Weather, written and illustrated by Bruce Koscielniak, tells the story of Geoffrey Groundhog's rise to fame for his ability to correctly predict how long winter will last. But one Groundhog Day, when he emerges from his long winter's nap, all the locals are at his burrow waiting for him to tell them "whether to wax the skis or the surfboard." The problem is that, with all the people, television cameras, and lights, he can hardly see the ground in front of him, let alone his shadow. Fortunately, Geoffrey has someone special he can count on to save the day and help him make his prediction.
For those of you looking to incorporate Geoffrey's story into your curriculums, there is literally a plethora of lesson plans and activities bouncing around the Internet. Just search the book title. Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to stop by and read! Have a terrific Thursday!
