The Studio Sketch Challenge

Sunday, January 19, 2014

Morning, friends, and happy Sunday!  I've got a new page, inspired by The Studio's current challenge, for you all, today.  Enjoy!
I started this page by stamping the ink splatters, in White ink, on my ink distressed, blue, textured, cardstock, base page.  I then matted my photos with Whisper White cardstock; backed them with a wide stripe of navy, doily, patterned paper; and secured them, to the page, just above horizontal center.  Their top and bottom edges were then trimmed with both strips of yellow and gray, plaid, patterned paper, as well as hand-cut, from patterned paper hexagons, pouring over to both the top and bottom edges of the design, where they were anchored with navy-threaded, straight, machine stitches and decked out with a couple of hand-cut bits of word confetti.
The top of my photos was then dressed up with lots of little, die-cut, fall bits, as well as a button, laced with hemp twine; "SO VERY Thankful" transparency...
hand-cut, "SO VERY HAPPY", word confetti; and pumpkin, which was Cameo-cut from Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip cardstocks and ink distressed.
Another pumpkin, created in the same way as above, grounds the right end of my "autumn FUN" title, which was created from a Cameo-cut, from Whisper White cardstock, "autumn", which was also glittered, and brown alphas...
and flanks the left side of a vintage, drug store label, which houses my journaling.  The journaling reads, Decorating pumpkins together on a chilly am at the Scarecrow Festival, and was topped with an "AUTUMN FUN" die cut and grounded with a star die cut, which was popped up with foam tape.  A little, transparency arrow, which was secured with a couple of staples, trims the bottom right edge of the far right photo...
and a hand-written, on a yellow, striped ticket, October 6, 2012, date, which was grounded with a bit of leaf flair, trimmed with a hemp twine bow, as well as a bunch of gold, floral sequins, completes the look.
And here's this month's Sketch Challenge to get you started.  Valerie designed the sketch based on my Christmas Snackin' page from last month.  So, since you've already seen what I can do with it just as it is, I decided to rotate the sketch and use vertical, rather than horizontal, photos.
Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to see what the rest of the team has whipped up, just for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks so much for peeking in, y'all!  Have a blessed Sunday and a fantastic start to your work weeks!  Hugs!
