Wplus9 Monday Mood Board #25

Friday, January 24, 2014

Just popping in, before the weekend, to share a sweet, baby card I made for a friend who is nearly ready to pop with twin boys.  Enjoy!
I started this card by laying a piece of blue, stripe, patterned paper over the center of the Kraft, cardstock, card face and two, yellow, patterned papers, one of which was die-cut with the scalloped edge, vertically, just right of center.  All papers were then anchored with white-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches respectively; and the "congratulations" sentiment was stamped, in Jet Black ink, vertically, along their right edge.
A length of white, seam binding ribbon was then wrapped, around the card face, between the two, yellow, patterned papers; tied, in a double bow, near the top edge of the card; and embellished with a soft blue button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
The frame was created from several die-cut layers of White, cardstock, rounded rectangles.  They were then ink distressed; glittered; adhered, just to the left of the sentiment, in the center of the card face; and filled in with the stamped, on White, cardstock die cuts, in Jet Black and Bashful Blue inks, onesies and their ties.  The ties also got a couple of mini pearl tacks.
Finally, I stamped the arched banners, in Daffodil Delight and Bashful Blue inks respectively, on White cardstock; hand cut them out; and adhered them, layered and with foam tape, over the top left corner of the prepped frame.
Inspiration for my card came from Wplus9 Design's Monday Mood Board #25.  Dawn posts one of these every other Monday and selects three random participants to win $10 in store credit.  Can't beat that!  AND you still have the weekend to play.  So off you go!
Thanks so much for peeking in!  Now, get out there and have a truly remarkable weekend, friends!

I just love it when you use those frames. So fun! Do you do your stitching straight onto your card base our do you layer? Just wondering how you'd finish the inside if you stitch direct. Hugs!
