The Studio Love Colour Challenge

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Happy Sunday, y'all!  I've got a page, inspired by The Studio's new challenge, to share with you all, today.  We haven't gotten as many pics of our anxiously anticipated little one this pregnancy, and my doctor says that, unless she suspects something is wrong, there won't be any more.  Obviously, we don't want anything to be wrong, even though we'd love another peek of our growing bundle with just a few weeks to go.  So, we'll just treasure the first nine-week-old photos this page boasts even more.
I started this page by inking a flow of stars, through a template, using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, across my wispy, circles, base page and layering a number of color-coordinating, patterned papers, as well as a bit of flocked vellum and a vintage, perforated strip, near its horizontal center.  Before securing the latter with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, I tucked a large tag, laced with white chord, tied in a bow, under their combined, bottom, left edges and flanked it with a "love this life!" tag, grounded at its left end, with a bit of "FEB" flair.
After my photos were adhered, haphazardly, over all layers, I grounded them with a strip of textured, orchid cardstock, which was die-cut with the scalloped bottom and anchored with black-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches, as well as a "NOTED:", cardstock sticker and bit of journaling, which reads, We just met, and I love you already, on a hand-cut strip of Whisper White cardstock.
A simple staple anchors the left end of that journaling flag.  A couple more secure the transparent, die cut, second half of my "NEW life" title.  The first portion of it was created from simple, naked, chipboard Thickers.  A "FAMILY", chalkboard, cardstock sticker, popped up with foam tape, as well as a number of clear gemstones, scattered throughout the design...
and silver star and arrow rubons, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this layout came from My Scraps & More's Sketch #63.
And here's your Love-Themed Colour Challenge palette to get you off and running in the right direction.
Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to see what the rest of the team has whipped up, just for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  And have a super wonderful, work week, friends!

you have really brought the focus of the page on the photos by leaving the background with only bits of the colours and clustering around the photos. Love it to bits. And look forward to some new pics of little Kaden soon.

It's so wonderful you were able to document his growth. We didn't have all those pictures back when my daughter was born. I had one and it completely faded out. :-( Fab layout!
