Thanks For Being So Sweet

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

Good evening, friends!  About a week and a half ago, the sweet and talented Debbie Marcinkiewicz organized a Virtual Baby Shower, in conjunction with the inspiring, Paper Sweeties ladies, for me.  When I started my blog almost four and a half years ago now, I never dreamed that I'd meet so many wonderful, thoughtful, precious, AMAZING people here, but this group of ladies is perfectly defined by those adjectives.  So, this thank you goes out to the list of creators below from the very bottom of my heart.  You all are simply the best!
I started this card by stamping a piece of White cardstock, in Coral Calypso, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pistachio Pudding inks, with the two sizes of strawberries and their stems and leaves.  I then ink distressed its edges; trimmed its bottom edge with a strip of coral, polka dot, patterned paper; and framed it all with a piece of soft green, polka dot, patterned paper, as well as peach-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.  The space between the stamped cardstock and coral paper was wrapped with a length of Baby Pink Berry, seam binding ribbon, which was tied, in a double bow, near the left edge of the prepped piece and embellished with a coral button, laced with a white, chord bow, before being adhered, with foam tape, to the Cashmere, cardstock, card face.
A vintage, butterfly, journaling card was then laid in the center of the card face before gold embossing a bunch of little stars.  It was then adhered, in its present position, with foam tape; trimmed, down its right side, with a length of white lace; and embellished with a handful of pearl sequins and trio of little, new-to-me, gold stars from Pretty Pink Posh.
The "Thanks for being so sweet" sentiment was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, in the bottom center of a white-embossed, die-cut, vellum frame, which was adhered just to the right of the embellished bow and topped with a stamped, in Coral Calypso and Pistachio Pudding inks, on a White, cardstock die cut, and glittered strawberry.
Inspiration for this card came from Curtain Call's Inspiration Challenge: Perfectly Peach...
and The Shabby Tea Room's Week #208: Pretty Polka Dots.
Please be sure to stop by each participant's blog to check out their beautiful creations and leave them a little love from me.  I've linked their baby card posts to their names below.

In conjunction with Debbie's Week #206: Baby Shower Party Challenge in The Shabby Tea Room, both Colleen and Kim created the linked beauties just for me, as well.  So, this thank you is for you ladies, too.  Big hugs!  Thanks so much for stopping by, bloggers!  Have a blessed night!
