Color Me Scrappy Challenge #64

Sunday, June 15, 2014

Note: This is my second post for today.  Love to have you scroll down to check out my Stuck?! June 15th Sketch post below.

Morning, y'all!  Just popping in again to share my take on Color Me Scrappy's latest palette.  Here goes.
I started this page by stamping the dingy, floral, base page, in Jet Black ink, with the butterflies.  I then anchored five strips of varying, patterned papers, across the vertical center of my page, with orange-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before topping them with my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.
The left photo was also wrapped with a length of white string, tied in a bow; topped with an orange, chevron, April 16, 2014 tab; and further dressed up with a green, polka dot, butterfly die cut, backed with a calendar card...
and embellished with die-cut, from Chocolate Chip cardstock, leaves; a "Where does the TIME go?", cardstock sticker; and a bunch of stamped in Jet Black ink, colored with pencils, and hand-cut poppies.
A typewriter flashcard...
as well as a few more poppies, created in the same way as described above, and a "NOTES" tag, which reads, It's so exciting when our new school bks. arrive.  This yr. you're most looking forward to science, were tucked under the right photo's right side.
It was then grounded with "one of a kind" and "science", cardstock stickers; "etc", arrow, and "BEST DAY EVER" transparencies, anchored with staples; chipboard "student"; and a fuzzy, "WORD." rubon.
A bit of school flair; "RADIANT", cardstock sticker; and fuzzy, arrow rubon, as well as the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a vellum, banner die cut, "Movin' on Up" title, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Let's Capture Our Memories' Sketch #75.
And here's your Challenge #64 to get you off and running in the right direction.  This go around, we're also asking you to use some floral patterned paper, in combination with the color scheme, on your layout.
You have until the 28th of each month to link up your takes and are playing for the opportunity to guest design with our talented team.  Speaking of, please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how they've interpreted the challenge.  Thanks so much for peeking in, and have great day, friends!
