The Studio Colour Challenge & Stuck?! July 15th Sketch

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

I'm super excited today to get to share a page for a special challenge partnership between The Studio and Stuck?! Sketches!  At first, I found the bright palette uber challenging, but I think I pulled it off with lots of beautiful papers from Jenni Bowlin and October Afternoon and photos that fit it perfectly.  And my new coffee stain stamps looked just like the popped bubbles Adina blew onto her page to boot!
I started this page by smudging Patina Glimmer Mist onto the textured, white, cardstock, base page and stamping it, in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie inks respectively, with the coffee stains and drips.
I then anchored lots of color-coordinating, patterned papers over the smudge with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before adhering my photographs, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock, down their vertical center.  I then tucked a scalloped, journaling card under the photos top right edge and topped it with a paper bloom, flanked by a couple of hand-cut leaves and die-cut, vellum feathers.
An "OH SO HAPPY!", cardstock sticker dresses up the top edge of the center photograph...
and a "hello SUNSHINE" circle, grounded with a bit of "2013" flair, draped with a couple of veneer feathers...
as well as a trio of "take note:", "MY GIRL", and "free spirit" stickers, in combination with a hand-cut, from patterned paper, arrow, round out its bottom.
Lots of buttons, anchored with white string, and yellow, enamel dots, as well as a bit of journaling, complete the look.  The journaling reads, Gosh, I could look @ that beautiful face and those gorgeous lashes all day long.  I just love that you're always so brave and super excited to try new things and that you never do it halfway, even bubble painting.  Aug. 30, 2013.
Here's your Colour Challenge...
and July 15th Sketch to get you started.
Our Stuck?! sponsors for this challenge, with an Authentique prize pack and prize package respectively, are...
and you're playing for a £15 voucher for Washi Tape, from www.washitape.co.uk, with The Studio's palette.  We're also excited to have my friend, Yvonne Yam, guest designing with us this month, so please be sure to stop by and leave her lots of love.  Thanks so much for looking, and don't forget to stop by the challenge links above to see what the rest of the girls have whipped up for your viewing pleasure.  Be blessed!
