Color Me Scrappy Challenge #67

Friday, August 1, 2014

Note: If you've come here looking for my Stuck?! August 1st Sketch post, please scroll down.

Welcome back, friends!  I've got another page, using Color Me Scrappy's latest color palette, to share with you all today and just in time for some weekend scrapping to boot.  Enjoy!
I started this page by fitting a piece of floral, patterned paper into the bottom of the pink, flamingo, base page and trimming the space between them with a couple of layered Washi Tapes.  I then stamped the combined pages, in Jet Black ink, with the Quilt Prints and layered a number of color-coordinating, patterned papers, as well as a doily, vintage perforated scrap, vellum piece, and couple of tags, near center and under the photo, which was matted with Whisper White cardstock and wrapped with a length of white string, tied in a bow.
I then tucked a number of pink, striped, paper-punched hearts in between the layers and anchored them with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before adding my journaling on a blue-framed, journaling card.  The journaling card reads, When I look @ this pic, I remember how my {heart} just swelled 'til I thought it might burst looking @ these beautiful smiles so happy to be together once again.  Ramada Inn, Mission, KS.  This photo was taken on one of the weekends my hubby was home, from working in South Dakota, visiting.
A die-cut "u" was then secured, above the grouping, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches; topped with a transparent die cut, which was secured with a couple of simple staples; and dressed up with a "SWEET" sticker and chipboard bubble.  The chipboard bubble was painted with Titanium White acrylic paint, ink distressed, glittered, and backed with a blue, striped, patterned paper.
A "love you always" cardstock sticker rounds out the top of the design...
and "i am so blessed" and "my family totally rocks" ones complete the bottom left.
The bottom right corner was dressed up with a vintage tag, laced with white string; glitter, sticker frame; die-cut, Whisper White, cardstock branch; and "date" Nov. 15, 2013 label.
The "cool IN THE pool" title, which was cut from Bashful Blue cardstock with my Cameo and glittered, completes the look.
Here's your Challenge #67 to get you started.  We're also asking that you include something that you love on your page.  There are lots of things that I love but none more than the people on my page above, and now, I'm even more blessed to have a fourth bundle of joy to fill my heart.
You have until the 28th of each month to link up your takes and are playing for the opportunity to guest design with our talented team.  Speaking of, please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how they've interpreted the challenge.  Thanks so much for peeking in, and have a fantastic weekend!
