Stuck?! September 1st Sketch

Monday, September 1, 2014

Happy September, friends!  I've got my take on Stuck?! Sketches' first September sketch to share, with you all, today.  This is Laura's anniversary month, and in celebration of such, she's got an amazing group of sponsors lined up with even more fabulous prizes for our participants.  I was lucky enough to get to play with chipboard pieces from one of those sponsors, Scrapmatts, for my take.  Thank you, Scrapmatts!
I started this page by stamping the chalkboard frame base page, in White ink and just above the "you make me HAPPY WHEN SKIES ARE GRAY" title, with the Grungy Border, as well as with the "LOVE you" sentiment.
I then secured a number of color-coordinating strips of patterned papers, across the horizontal center of the page, with red-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before dressing them up with a couple of border stickers; placing my string circle chipboard pieces over them; and, in turn, topping them with my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.  My photos were grounded with a chalkboard tag, stamped, in White ink, with "you are my sunshine", as well as a scalloped, journaling frame, which reads, Watching you play in your carefree, contented way brings me such joy...
and topped with a "SWIM" Bingo card, as well as a May 29, 2010, Memorial Day Weekend, sticker tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow and backed with a chalkboard word bubble.
They were then flanked with a piece of "MAY" flair...
and a hand-cut, from patterned paper, "TODAY {an everyday kind of day}" chalkboard bubble.
More goodies from Scrapmatts, laced together with white string, form the word "PLAY", hanging, across the top of the page, near the base of a hand-cut, from patterned paper, cloud.
A trio of phrase stickers...
as well as more "shine" flair; a few buttons, laced with white string; red Bella Brad; and lots of clear sequins complete the look.
Here is your September 1st Sketch to get you started.
The prizes for this particular anniversary challenge are a $50 gift certificate from Scrapmatts, 20 pieces of chipboard or wood veneer of the winner's choice from Words or Whatever, $35 gift certificate from Lindy's Stamp Gang, paper stack from DCWV, some lovely newly released product from Linnie Blooms, and a $30 gift certificate from Big Picture Classes.  Woohoo!

Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team has interpreted the sketch, as well as to get all your challenge details.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  And I hope you'll join us for a another celebratory lineup of creations and sponsors the middle of the month.  Have a blessed week!
