Stuck?! Oct. 1st Sketch & Color Me Scrappy Challenge #71

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Morning!  I'm so excited to get to share a page, with you all, today, that was inspired by a unique joint challenge between Stuck?! Sketches and Color Me Scrappy, both teams of which I'm over-the-moon honored to design for.  Too fun!  So, let's just get started, and I'll fill you in on the details after.  Shall we?
I started this page by creating a frame, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, around the edges of my heart, base page.  That frame was also used to anchor a couple of vellum triangles in opposite corners.  I then stamped the background, in Jet Black ink, with a quartet of strategically-placed medallions, before beginning my photo cluster with a white, paper doily.  A number of color-coordinating, patterned papers, one of which was cut in the form of a banner and anchored with more black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, back my matted, with Whisper White cardstock, photo, which was wrapped with a length of white string, tied, in a bow, around a leaf stick pin.  The pin was backed with a pinked, circle sticker; and both "WANT THIS." and "THIS IS WHAT HAPPY LOOKS LIKE" sticker banners further dress up the photo.
A trio of phrase and month stickers ground the cluster...
and a duet of stickers, as well as a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "celebrating JAN 12 2014" date, top it.
My "always" title was Cameo-cut from Whisper White cardstock and glittered, and a scattering of veneer hearts and sequin stars pour over into a secondary cluster.
That grouping was dressed up with a trio of the same patterned papers that give depth to my photo, one of which, again, was cut in the shape of a banner and grounded with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then stapled a bright green frame, upon which I journaled, It was BJ's 1st official weekend home to stay, and we celebrated in style with a date night at Jose Peppers, over all papers and dressed it up with a sticker finger to complete the look.
Here's your Stuck?! October 1st Sketch...
and Color Me Scrappy Challenge #71 to get you off and running in the right direction(s).
The sketch is the extra detail we'd like you to add to our color palette at Color Me Scrappy, and as always, you're playing for the opportunity to guest design with our talented team.  Our Stuck?! sponsors for this sketch, with a $20 gift certificate and two large pieces of chipboard respectively, are...
Please be sure to stop by the challenge links above to see how the rest of my team members have interpreted the challenge(s), as well as to get all your challenge details.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Gorgeous, gorgeous page! Love your layering and use of colors. Great picture. I want to sew on my layouts. What kind of sewing machine do you have? Mine is old and does not work. And when it does work, it jams. Def would not work on paper!! Thanks, Jinny!!
