Stuck?! December 1st Sketch

Note: If you've come here looking for my Paper Sweeties December Inspiration Challenge #26 - Happy Holidays post, please scroll down.

Morning, friends, and happy December!  We're starting the month out right, over at Stuck?! Sketches, with a brand new sketch to inspire your holiday creative time.  With Thanksgiving just behind us and a heap of new goodies from my Jenni Bowlin papercrafting kit, I couldn't help but use the combination to capture a few memories from my family's 2013 celebrations.  I meant to pop in here to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends before the actual day this year, but life just got the best of me last week.  Then, it felt like the moment had passed, but please know that each and every one of you were at the top of my thankful list.
I started this page by anchoring two color-coordinating, patterned papers together with a strip of green, chicken scratches, patterned paper and white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then secured a piece of chicken, patterned paper, just right of vertical center and below horizontal center, with more white-threaded, straight, machine stitching, before placing my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.  I then grounded those photos with a number of rows of canning jars, all hand-cut from patterned paper and topped them with a white envelope, housing my journaling, which was written on a "thankful", journaling card, cut in the shape of a tag; colored with pencils; laced with white string, tied in a bow; and embellished with a pearl button and white leaf.
My journaling reads, BJ ended up having to work up in S.D. on Thurs., but he got home just in time for a Friday night celebration with turkey and all the trimmings and our Mayflower ship packed to the brim with all the things we have to be thankful for, including being back together again, even if for a short time.  Ezekiel was most excited about that turkey leg.  Bleck!  And Adina couldn't get enough of her cinnamon Jell-O or cuddles from her Daddy.  -2013-
The bottom right corner was dressed up with a couple of ferns, created with a stencil and Peeled Paint Distress Ink and hand-cut out, as well as a wood veneer embellishment, topped with another pearl button, laced with white string; "love everything about you" ticket; tangle of thread; and metal, bird trinket.
The "give thanks" title was created from a Cameo-cut, from White cardstock, "give", which I glittered and weaved into the burlap, Thickers "thanks".
One final pearl button, laced with white string and flanked with a couple of veneer leaves, completes the look.
Our sponsors for this sketch, with two pieces of chipboard and a $15 gift certificate respectively, are...
and here is your December 1st Sketch to get you started.  I tried and tried and tried to create a little something in that top left corner, but nothing seemed to cut it.  Plus, everything I did try made my page feel overcrowded, so I cut it out all in the name of design.  Truly, I blame it on all those patterns.
Don't forget that our Guest Design Team Call extends through the month December.  All you have to do to enter is play along and add "GDT" to the title of your entry.  Laura is offering four spots, one for each of our January and February challenges.  Yay!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to view all the fabulous pages the rest of Design Team has created just for your viewing pleasure.  Have a blessed December!  Hugs!
