Friday Faves

Friday, February 28, 2014

We're at the end of another month once again, and that means it's time for another edition of my Friday Faves.  Let's begin with a couple of collections from Pebbles, Inc.  The primary palette and bitty patterns of their Seen & Noted 12x12 Collection Pack have me all over them, and I'm totally digging the trendy chevrons and word bubbles.
And their Special Delivery Boy 12x12 Paper Pad is simply a must in my present predicament ;).  Plus, the coordinating Die Cuts and Stickers are too cute for words.
Oh!  And I adore these, despite the poor photograph, Photo Overlays to bits!
Here's a much better look at a fabulous pack of Photo Overlays from Crate Paper's gorgeous Love Notes Collection.
Every ounce of this collection, from the Paper Pad to its coordinating Adhesive Chipboard and Flair, is beyond perfect for scrapping all my Valentine's Day pics, sending a love note to that special someone, or simply making a page to celebrate the amazing people I love, and its retro vibe and chalkboard elements keep it right on trend.
LOVE these bold, bright Painted Wood Floral Buttons, from Button Stand, to bits!  Not only are they absolutely beautiful, but they're made from recycled wood to boot.
And since I'm highlighting buttons, I couldn't resist sharing Deep Indigo's Special Edition Cross-Stitched Easter Buttons.  LOVE the pastel palette, and check out the fantastic texture of their natural linen foundations.
Speaking of Easter, I just had to throw in these Graphic Bunny Plates from Pottery Barn.  They'd be such a fun AND colorful addition to all our celebrations!
It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of Retrofied, and this Vintage Red Lantern Reversible Tote Bag is a perfect example of why.  Swoon!
My sister-in-law recently introduced me to Jenna Lou Designs' with one of her gorgeous Wristlets, which promptly made its way into my everyday bag.  Well, Jenna's Custom Bridal Clutches, too, have totally captured my heart; and the custom embroidery and/or labels she provides are such a great personal touch.
That's all, for this round, folks!  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit, and may your weekends be full of fun and relaxation.  It looks like ours is going to be inundated by snow as well.  So, we'll be sipping hot cocoa and filling our bellies with a big, hot bowl of gumbo, while we watch the snowflakes fall.  Be blessed!

Miss You

Morning, friends!  So sorry for the bit of silence here in my neck of the woods.  I haven't had any DT assignments to post, so I've been pouring my time into these cuties and attempting to rest all I can.
I'm usually really good at continuing on with business as usual on little to no sleep at all.  However, extended periods of such, say like almost a month ;), catches up even to the best of us, and I'm feeling pretty much like a walking zombie all the time now.  I will have a Friday Faves lineup to share tomorrow, and I've got a layout coming your way early Sunday morning.  If time allows, I may try to sneak in another project on Saturday, too; but until then, please know that I miss you all ever so much and have been thinking about you lots.  Hugs!

Wplus9 Feb./Mar. Release: Day 3

Saturday, February 22, 2014

Welcome back, friends!  I've got one more Wplus9 Design February/March Release creation to share, with you all, today.  However, this definitely won't be the last you see of these goodies from me ;).  LOVE all the basics, as well as the sweet specialties, Dawn has tied into this release!  Without further adieu, how about a little something for the upcoming Easter holiday?
I started this card by stamping a piece of aqua, gingham, patterned paper, along its bottom edge, in Jet Black ink, with the sweet, little lambs; trimming its right edge with a strip of floral, woodgrain, patterned paper; and framing it with a piece of our new Cashmere cardstock, as well as moss-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.
Before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Steel Mill (another newbie), cardstock, card face, I wrapped it, between the two patterned papers, with a length of Baby Pink Berry, seam binding ribbon, which was tied, in a double bow, near the top edge of the card face and embellished with a pearl button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
The leafy frame was stamped, in Mellow Moss ink, on an ink distressed oval, cut from Oatmeal cardstock and adhered, with foam tape, in the center of a vintage frame, which, in turn, was adhered, with more foam tape, in the center of the card face, tucked below the embellished bow.  It was then topped with a die-cut, from Barely Banana cardstock, chick, which I grounded with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a bright pink, polka dot, patterned, paper, banner die cut, "Easter Blessings" sentiment, as well as a stamped, in London Fog ink, on an Oatmeal, cardstock die cut, bow, to complete the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web!  Have a wonderful Sunday and, for those of you who aren't regular followers of my blog, a blessed Easter season!  Oh, and don't forget to stop by the Wplus9 Design Blog to see what the rest of the team has been cooking up for this release, as well as to find out how you can still win a $100 Wplus9 gift certificate.  Hugs!

Wplus9 Feb./Mar. Release: Day 2

Friday, February 21, 2014

Evening, friends!  I'm back to share a little more of what Wplus9 Design's February/March Release has to offer.  Enjoy!
I started this card by stamping the "happy" sentiment, in Brocade Blue and Brilliant Blue inks, on the White, cardstock, card face.  I then cut a circle from a piece of ink distressed and stamped, down its right edge, in Brilliant Blue ink, with the stars, ivory, text, patterned paper; backed it with a sheet of vellum just to soften the look; and secured it, to the card face, with brown-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  The balloon strings were then stamped in Jet Black ink; topped with a couple of die-cut, from color-coordinating, patterned papers, balloons...
and anchored to a die-cut, from woodgrain, patterned paper and White cardstock, gift which had its bow glittered and was overlaid with the partial, "happy" sentiment.  The latter was die-cut from Kraft cardstock.
The remainder of the "TO HELP YOU CELEBRATE THIS VERY SPECIAL DAY!" sentiment was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a blue-framed, journaling card, whose right end was trimmed into a pennant before being adhered just below the die-cut bits and overhanging the bottom right edge of the card face.
Color inspiration for this card came from ScrapFriends' Colour Challenge #22.
I've got one more release-inspired creation to share, with you all, at the same time tomorrow.  Until then, thanks so much for peeking in, and have a terrific start to your weekends!

Thank You

Thursday, February 20, 2014

A couple of weeks ago, my sweet, blog friend, Julie Tucker-Wolek, organized a Virtual Baby Shower for little, ol' me.  I was beyond surprised and humbled by this gesture of kindness and wanted to send out a great big thank you to her and the rest of the talented ladies involved.  (See list below.)  Words cannot possibly express what it meant to me.  Love each and every one of you to bits!
I started this card by trimming the left edge of a piece of bright, pink, medallion, patterned paper with a strip of multi-colored, striped, patterned paper; machine stitching, with white-threaded, straight stitches, a double frame around their combined edges; and dressing the space between them with a length of lace, as well as a bit of white, seam binding ribbon, tied, in a double bow, near its top edge and embellished with a lone, pink pearl.
After adhering the prepped piece, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face, with foam tape, I stamped the partial, "Thank You" sentiment, in Jet Black ink, on a pink, striped, banner die cut and anchored it, just above the completed, stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a floral, journaling card, "FOR YOUR KINDNESS" sentiment, with messy, white-threaded, machine stitches.
The journaling card was tucked just below the embellished bow with foam tape.  I then topped a canvas butterfly with a gold-embossed, on vellum, and hand-cut butterfly, which was dressed up with a teal, paper bloom; backed it with a white-embossed, on a vellum die cut, lace circle; and adhered the prepped focal point, with foam tape, just above the sentiment, in the top center of the journaling card.
Inspiration for this card came from City Crafter Challenge Blog's Week 199: Flowers and Lace and The Card Concept's Challenge #4: Use a Floral Theme.
Please be sure to stop by each participant's blog to check out their beautiful creations and leave them a little love from me.  I've linked their baby card posts to their names below.
