Stuck?! January 15th Sketch

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Morning, y'all!  I'm just popping in to share my take on Stuck?! Sketches' new sketch.  So, let's get right to it.  Shall we?
I started this page by anchoring a piece of gold, heart, foil vellum, over the multicolored, stripe, base paper, just to soften the look, with a gold-threaded, straight, machine-stitch frame.  I know it doesn't look as though it is so in the photograph, but it is the same distance from the outside edge of the base page all the way around.  I then stamped the page, in Jet Black ink, with a trio of medallions and layered a number of patterned papers, near the top left corner of the page, to ground my photo.  One of those papers was hand-cut in the shape of a banner and had a gold, sequin burst tucked under it.  A gold doily, as well as a kraft envelope, were tucked in amidst the papers, before I secured each one with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
My photo was then matted with Whisper White cardstock; adhered, with foam tape, in its respective location; and dressed up with a "SERIOUSLY", die-cut frame...
as well as a white envelope, stuffed with a handmade tag, embellished with a bit of navy ribbon and Coral Calypso twine, tied in a bow...
and used to journal, You don't yet know how lucky you are to have one another, but my prayer is that one day you'll know the fullness of love that comes with that God-given bond.
A bit of floral Washi, arrow rubon, and trio of phrase stickers round out the photo grouping.
My "WE 3 BELONG together" title was created, from ABC stickers, a foam Thicker, and a Cameo-cut, from Whisper White cardstock, "together," above a gold, date, February 26, 2014, pennant.  A gold, striped, heart button was anchored with white string; and a vellum heart was popped up with a bit of foam tape, over a secondary, gold rubon to complete the look.  I loved the look of that circle rubon, but its location, over a foil heart on my vellum overlay, made its etched phrase look incomplete.  So, I filled it in with black ink, but that was much bolder than I had envisioned.  A little glitter softened it perfectly, and the whole look was salvaged.  Yay!
Further inspiration for this page came from Scrap Our Stash's Challenge #22 (T = twine, W = Washi, I = ink, N = number 3, E = envelopes, both kraft & white).
Our Stuck?! sponsors for this sketch, with $25 and $15 gift certificates respectively, are...
and here's your January 15th Sketch, which I flipped upside down, to get you started.
Thanks so much for humoring me with a visit!  Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to view all the fabulous pages the rest of Design Team has created just for your viewing pleasure.  Have a great day!
