Stuck?! February 1st Sketch

Sunday, February 1, 2015

Morning, y'all!  We're starting the month out right, over at Stuck?! Sketches, with a brand new sketch to inspire your February scrappy time.
I started this page by cutting the heart lace, from Whisper White cardstock, with my Cameo and adhering it over the multi-colored, paint-swiped, base page.  We've collaborated with ScrapMuch?'s color story this week, and I was beyond thrilled to find that it coordinated perfectly with that paper.  I then went back and filled a number of the Cameo-cut hearts back in just to further soften the busy background colors and secured several color-coordinating, patterned papers, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, near the right edge of the design.
After adhering my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock, I tucked in a sheet of vellum, few veneer doilies, chipboard frame, and doily die cut and grounded their bottom right corner with a couple of cardstock, sticker, phrase bits.
My "Party of 5" title was created from Cameo-cut and ink-distressed, Baja Breeze cardstock; black foam Thickers; and a chipboard "5", which I painted with Titanium White, acrylic paint, ink distressed, glittered, and wrapped with a length of Charcoal twine, tied in a bow.
I then cut a number of arrows from patterned paper and adhered them in their respective locations.  I decided to keep with the theme those hand-cut, paper bits created and added lots more wood veneer and stamped, in Jet Black ink, arrows, as well as an aqua, cardstock, sticker arrow, which I stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "AMAZING" sentiment.  A "LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE" flair button tops the design...
and a "TRUE STORY" die cut; bit of "enjoy" flair; star clip; and stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, camera ground it.  A little Crystal Effects for the camera lens and lots of clear sequins complete the look.
Our sponsors for this particular challenge, with two large pieces of chipboard and a $10 gift certificate (Some conditions apply.) respectively, are...
and here's your February 1st Sketch challenge, which I rotated 90 degrees to the left, to get you started.
Here's that gorgeous palette, from ScrapMuch?, that the Design Team used this week, too.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to view all the fabulous pages the rest of Design Team has created to inspire your weekend scrap time.  Be blessed!
