The Studio List Challenge

Monday, March 2, 2015

Welcome to the work week, y'all!  What better way to start the week, not to mention the month of March, than with a brand spankin' new challenge from The Studio?  We're calling this one a List Challenge, because we want you to use as many items from the list (i.e. mist, stamping, sequins, chipboard, brads/eyelets, thread, and vellum) that you can on your pages this go around.  (Note: The color yellow seems to have been added after the list was published, but I got the rest of the items on there.)   When I started this page, I knew that my March Noel Mignon kit was on its way to my mailbox, so I tapped into the girly potential of my February Love Life Classic Kit to put together one last page before making room on my desktop for all the new goodies.  Here's how I was inspired.
I started this page by smudging Patina and Bubblegum Pink Glimmer Mists onto the pink, chevron, base page.  I then stamped it, in Coastal Cabana and Pool Party inks, with the mixture of circles; in Real Red ink, with the Bokeh spots; and in Melon Mambo ink, with the quilt stars.  The latter two were also stamped in second-generation inks, and a few stamped, in White ink, hearts, although subtle, add an extra layer of texture.  The stamped, in Jet Black ink, camera, "HIGH-VOLTAGE smile" phrase, "LOVE IT" circle, and starbursts were the final prep to the page before adding my pics, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.  A few Cameo-cut, interlocking, vellum circles were tucked under the photos, before securing a number of bits and baubles throughout, beginning with the "YOU ARE HERE", Roeland Park Aquatic Center label at the top of the page.  A Cameo-cut, from Coastal Cabana cardstock, "cool IN THE pool" phrase was then tucked over and under it and kissed with glitter.
Moving from top to bottom, in a clockwise fashion, the next photo was dressed up with a "#SO BEAUTIFUL", phrase die cut, as well as a "REAL LIFE", cardstock sticker.
Both bottom photos were grounded with a "JULY 2014" flair button...
and "JUST KEEP SWIMMING", phrase sticker respectively.
The final photo was wrapped with a length of white string, tied in a bow; popped up with foam tape; and embellished with a teal, star clip and chipboard "5" to represent my daughter's age at the time these photos were taken.
Two strips of color-coordinating, patterned papers were secured, along the left edge of the page, just to the left of the stamped camera, with black-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches and dressed up with a couple more fun cameras, including a pink, wood veneer bit, which I embellished with a bit of glitter, and a vintage, white, transparency number.
A "100% all girl", cardstock sticker; veneer and chevron buttons, laced with white string; chipboard, glitter heart; heart brads; chipboard drops; and a handful of teal sequins, all scattered about, add lots of interest...
and a "SWIM lessons" title, created from foam, glitter Thickers and white, letter stickers, anchored with black-threaded, messy, machine stitches, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this challenge came from Let's Capture Our Memories' Sketch #112.
We're super excited to be welcoming four new and uber talented designers to our team with this challenge, and you really don't want to miss what they've whipped up.  So, be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details, as well as to give Elisabetta, Simona, Seungeun, and Vasso a warm welcome.  You have until April 1, 2015, to link up your takes in the right-hand column of The Studio Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a terrific week!
