From One Java Junkie to Another

Thursday, April 30, 2015

Morning, y'all!  Just trying to keep up with all the activity right now.  So, I'm going to get right to the reason for this post, which is simply to share a card I made for my brother's birthday.  There are so many April birthdays in my family, it's super hard to keep up.  I really should plan in advance.  Enjoy!
I started this card by anchoring a trio of polka dot papers, as well as a strip of vellum, which had been stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "BIRTHDAY WISHES from one JAVA JUNKIE to another" sentiment, onto a piece of White cardstock, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then wrapped the prepped piece with a length of hemp twine, tied, in a bow, near its right edge, and adhered it, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
A teal, polka dot envelope, housing a birthday gift card, was then adhered, over the hemp twine and under the vellum, sentiment panel, just left of vertical center...
and topped with a number of coffee images, stamped, respectively, in Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, and Jet Black inks, on White cardstock; hand-cut out; and adhered with foam tape.  The latter was also colored in with pencils and topped with lots of glitter to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Always Playing with Paper's Challenge #32: Polka Dots.
I'm finally beginning to catch up with all of you.  Thanks so much for being patient with me, and thanks, too, for peeking in!  I'll be back tomorrow with Stuck?! Sketches first challenge of the month.  Until then, be blessed!
