Guest Designing with Scrap Our Stash

Saturday, May 2, 2015

Welcome to the weekend, friends!  I'm super excited to have the privilege of guest designing with the gals over at Scrap Our Stash this month!
Scrap Our Stash was created to challenge and inspire paper crafters to use up the products and supplies they have in their stash, and I just love the freedom that comes with their challenges!  If you're a regular follower of my blog, you know that I like to load my pages with lots of layers and details.  So, I always find picking an item for each letter of the chosen stash challenge word, while challenging, super fun!  Inspiration for my page came from that gorgeous, Dear Lizzy, moon phases, patterned paper, which came in my Noel Mignon Hello Darling Classic Kit this month, and I knew would pair perfectly with these photos of my baby bear.  Further inspiration came from a fun, Washi Tape stamp set, as well as lots of tags, Polaroids, and veneer bits, that I just received in a scrumptious box from Elle’s Studio.  Enjoy!
I started this page by smudging Faded Jeans Distress Ink, through a chevron stencil, onto the moon phases, patterned, paper, base page.  I then stamped it, in Crisp Cantaloupe and Wild Wasabi inks, with the hash lines and polka dot Washi, before layering a Cameo-cut, vellum, number background over it all.  That gives the foundation for my photos which were matted with Whisper White cardstock and haphazardly stacked one on top of the other just right of vertical center.  I then added lots of embellishments and a few additional layers, as well as the journaling and title work.  So, beginning at the top of the page and moving clockwise, I tucked a striped Polaroid behind the top photograph and stacked a "you are my cuteness" sticker; airplane, which was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, colored in with pencils, and hand-cut out; and "treasured" arrow in its top left corner.
A "lots and lots and lots and lots of kisses!" tag graces its bottom right corner.
A couple of Jumbo pewter eyelets flank the center photograph.  I used them to lace a length of white string under the photo itself, from one side to the other, before tying its ends in a bow.
I then tucked a wood veneer frame under the right sides of the bottom two photographs and topped it with a chipboard button, laced with white string; hand-cut, White, cardstock cloud, which I also glittered; and a stamped, in second-generation Pumpkin Pie ink, on White cardstock and hand-cut out moon.
A "KEEP THIS." banner sticker takes us around the bottom right corner of the page...
to the left, where you'll find a perforated receipt, as well as a "too cute" February 5, '14 Polaroid, tucked under the photograph.
A wood veneer heart and "THIS IS TRUE LOVE" and "NOTED:" tags turn our attention to the final details.  The latter houses my journaling, which reads, All snug & toasty warm after your bath on your 1st am @ home.
Black, polka dot Washi Tape; buttons, laced with white string; silver, star rubons; and a "Sweet DREAMS" title, which was created from a Cameo-cut and glittered, Whisper White cardstock "Sweet" and blue, polka dot, chipboard Thickers, complete the look.
Here's your May Stash Challenge #26 - Emboss graphic to get you off and running in the right direction.
My "EMBOSS" list...
E = eyelets
M = moon
B = blue, buttons, bow, baby, & a tiny green balloon
O = orange
S = silver, stripes, stenciling, & stamping
S = stickers, stars, string, & the use of my Silhouette

I'd just be thrilled to have you pop by the challenge link above to check out my guest designer post and get all the details surrounding the challenge itself!  Thanks so much, too, for stopping by my little neck of the woods!  Have a fantastic Saturday, y'all!
