Stuck?! June 1st Sketch

Monday, June 1, 2015

If you can believe it, it's June already; and that means a brand spankin' new sketch, from Stuck?! Sketches, to get your creative juices flowing.  Let's just get right to it.  Shall we?
I started this page by layering a number of patterned papers, both vertically and horizontally, near center of the woodgrain, patterned, paper, base page, as well as in opposite corners, and anchoring many of them with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  A sheet of Cameo-cut vellum was then layered over all papers.  After matting my photos with Whisper White cardstock and adhering them, with foam tape, in their respective locations, I tucked a stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, on White cardstock; hand-cut; and shaded with colored pencils, "i {heart} nature" frame under the far right photo's bottom right edge.
A "LOVE THAT SMILE!" phrase bit; "YOU ARE HERE" Custer State Park, Campsite No. 24 label; and stamped, in Jet Black ink, "explore." ground the look.
Moving clockwise, a trio of Cameo-cut, from Chocolate Chip and Handsome Hunter cardstocks, evergreen trees anchor the bottom left corner.  A stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock tree and deer, both of which were colored with pencils and mineral spirits and hand-cut out, were tucked into the mix.  I also dressed the deer up with a little Crystal Effects for his nose and eye and a gold Gelly Roll pen for the spots.
I then slid a wood veneer frame under the far left photos and topped it with the Cameo-cut, from black and gold cardstocks, "Outdoors Vacation" title.
A trio of stamped, in Jet Black ink, mountains, which were topped with a little white embossing powder, back a "CAMP" embellishment, which was cut, from Whisper White and Strawberry Slush cardstocks, with my Cameo.  A stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock branch, which was colored with pencils and hand-cut out, was tucked under its bottom edge; and I couldn't help but add a squirrel, puffy sticker amongst its leaves.  A couple of gold-embossed, vellum feathers; "ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE" flair button; "SO AWESOME", cardstock sticker; and bit of white string, tied in a bow, finish off the cluster.
A couple lengths of bright pink, chevron Washi Tape and a "SWEET" cardstock sticker, as well as a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "LET'S GATHER 'ROUND THE Campfire" phrase and "all together SEP 28 2011" date, complete the look.
Our sponsors for this sketch are...
and here's your June 1st Sketch, which I've rotated 90 degrees to the right, to get you off and going in the right direction.
We've also partnered with The Cut Shoppe for this particular challenge and are thrilled to be showcasing cut files designed by the uber talented Ashley Horton.  Be sure to stop back by the Stuck?! Sketches Blog later this week to see how The Cut Shoppe Design Team was inspired by Laura's sketch.
Looking forward to seeing what you all whip up!  Thanks so much for stopping in!  Have a terrific week!
