Colour Me... Monochromatic!

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Morning, y'all!  We've got another challenge up at Colour Me...! to wet your creative appetites this week.  This one calls for monochromatic creations using Stampin' Up's Wisteria Wonder.  If you've been following my blog for any length of time, you know how I struggle with monochromatic creations.  Then, go and add purple to the mix, and I'm bound to fail... epically.  Fortunately, for me, I happened upon Jennifer McGuire's Faux Textured Metal Paper tutorial and was thoroughly inspired.  Here's how it went.
I started this card by taping off the outside edges of a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Washi and inking the center with Wisteria Wonder ink.  While the ink was still wet, I brushed over it with Perfect Pearls.  After buffing it with a soft cloth, the tape was removed to reveal that gorgeous, metallic sheen.
I then embossed it with the stars and anchored it, to the Wisteria Wonder, cardstock, card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I've had the silver, "i {heart} us" sticker for quite awhile now, and I think it found the perfect home in the center of that faux, metallic paper.  A sprinkling of silver sequins completes the look.
I'm adding this one to House of Cards' August Challenge: Metallics.
Here's your Creative Challenge No. 83 graphic to get you moving in the right direction.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  We'd also love to have you play along with us!  You have until 12 noon EST, on Monday, August 10, 2015, to link up your takes over at that same challenge link above.  Please be sure to check out last week's delicious Creative Challenge No. 82 Top Picks, too.  Can't wait to see what you all do with this one!  Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!
