Stuck?! August 1st Sketch

Saturday, August 1, 2015

It's officially August, y'all; and aside from summer quickly coming to a close, that means another inspired sketch, from Stuck?! Sketches, for all you scrappers out there.  Here's how our new sketch and my July Hip Kit Club goodies inspired me.
I started this layout by sprinkling Gold Color Shine and watered-down, Pure Black, acrylic paint over the sunburst, patterned paper, base page.  A quartet of color-coordinating, patterned papers, some of which were torn across their bottom edges, were then layered near the center of the sunburst and secured with gold and red-threaded, straight, machine stitches, sewn in circular patterns.  The Hand Drawn Circle was Cameo-cut from Whisper White cardstock; adhered atop those stitched circles; and, in turn, topped with a bit of torn vellum, as well as my photos, which were matted with more Whisper White cardstock.  One of those photos was wrapped with a length of white string, tied in a bow; topped with a "REMEMBER THIS" tab; and flanked with an "ENJOY THE SIMPLE LIFE." card, which was embellished with a stamped, in second-generation Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush inks, on White, cardstock die cuts, ice-cream cone and serves as my title.
The other photo was dressed up with a tangle of that gold thread, as well as a chipboard bloom...
not to mention a playful, little, "yummy TREATS" pennant, anchored to a leaf, trinket pin.
I then stamped the "What's the scoop?" question, in Real Red ink, just below my photo grouping and used it as a segue to my journaling, which reads, A little ice-cream, on the way back to camp, lifted our spirits and cooled us down.  The stamped, in Jet Black ink, "all together SEP 26 2011" date, along with a chevron, scallop, paper strip; trio of lengths of Washi Tape; and red, paper heart ground the design.  A trio of wood veneer buttons, laced with white string; sprinkling of teal and red, enamel dots; and kisses of glitter, for the aforementioned, paper heart and stamped, ice-cream cone, complete the look.
