The Studio Sketch Challenge

Sunday, August 2, 2015

Morning, friends!  Just popping back in to share our latest challenge from The Studio.  Anna's whipped up a fabulous sketch, based upon Vasso's Food Challenge layout, for you all.  I may have done a bit better job with that food challenge this go around.  Sometimes all you need is the right product to inspire, and I just so happened to have found such in a special, little box from Hip Kit Club.  Enjoy!
I started this page by smudging Patina Glimmer Mist mostly down the vertical center of the gray, stripe, base page; smearing Barn Door Distress Ink, through a chevron stencil, just around where my photo would lie; and splattering the entire page with watered-down, Pure Black acrylic paint.  I then used a pie chart stencil to create my trio of varying sizes of pies from a gorgeous array of patterned papers, all matching that colorful strip along the left side of the base paper, and anchored them with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before topping everything with my photo which was matted with Whisper White cardstock and backed with torn tissue papers, as well as a bit of torn vellum, stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "REMEMBER" phrase.
The "DINNER @ PYRAMID" title was created with a piece of wood veneer and black, foam Thickers and topped with a Cameo-cut, Whisper White cardstock "favorite".
The photo's bottom left corner was decked out with a couple of pennants, one of which was stapled to the photo itself...
and its top right corner with a "THIS" paper heart, "I {heart} everything about this" phrase bit, and veneer pizza, all weaved around a length of white string which was wrapped around the right edge of the photo itself and tied in a bow.  A quartet of additional, paper and chipboard, phrase die cuts and stickers round out that top corner...
and help frame the playful, wood veneer cutlery.
A healthy sprinkling of yellow, enamel dots, as well as a heart, enamel sticker; stamped, in Jet Black ink, heart; and couple lengths of Washi along the colorful edging, complete the look.
Let me send you off with your Sketch Challenge, which I've rotated 90 degrees to the right for my take above...
as well as a big thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web!  Be sure to also stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of my talented teammates interpreted the sketch, and have a wonderful week!  Hugs!
