Colour Me... Monochromatic!

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Just popping back in with my take on Colour Me...!'s latest palette.  We're going monochromatic this week with Stampin' Up's Mossy Meadow.  Another dear friend of mine is celebrating the birth of her first, sweet, baby boy.  So, this one, inspired by my gorgeous, vintage, Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection and favorite, bear stamp, is for her.
I started this card by trimming the left side of a piece of newsprint, patterned paper with a strip of polka dot, patterned paper, which I had stamped, in Baked Brown Sugar, with the quilt rings, as well as, in Jet Black ink, with the "congratulations" sentiment.
I then stamped the right edge of that same newsprint piece, in Mellow Moss ink, with the stars and anchored the prepped piece, to the Oatmeal, cardstock, card face, with moss-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then wrapped a length of seam binding ribbon, which I had thread through a chipboard tag, around the card face, between the connection of the two prints and tied it, in a double bow, near the top edge of the card face.
Another chipboard bit was adhered, with foam tape, just below and right of center...
and topped with a black-embossed, on watercolor paper, bear, which I water-colored in shades of Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Chocolate Chip, and Pretty in Pink inks and hand-cut out.  A bit of Wink of Stella, for the pink parts on the bear, completes the look.
Here's your Creative Challenge No. 87 graphic to get you started.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  We'd also love to have you play along with us!  You have until 12 noon EST, on Monday, September 7, 2015, to link up your takes over at that same challenge link above.  I just love seeing how you all play with color!  Please be sure to check out last week's stunning Creative Challenge No. 86 Top Picks, too, and thanks so much for stopping by!  Hugs!
