Colour Me... Subtle!

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

Hey, y'all!  Just stopping in to share my take on Colour Me...!'s newest palette.  We're looking for projects using a combination of Stampin' Up's Garden Green, Island Indigo, and Pacific Point this week.
I started this card by anchoring the patterned papers, onto a piece of Island Indigo cardstock, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches and stamping their combined bottom right corner, in Jet Black ink, with the "Friends Owl-ways!" sentiment.
I then wrapped the prepped piece with a length of Island Indigo ribbon; tied it, in a bow, near the left edge; and embellished it with a bit of hemp twine, tied in a bow, before adhering it, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face, with foam tape.
The wood slice was adhered just to the right of the embellished bow; backed with a tangle of black thread, as well as a stamped, in Garden Green ink, on Oatmeal cardstock, and hand-cut out branch; and topped with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on an Oatmeal, cardstock die cut, owl.
A couple of google eyes and trio of wood veneer hearts complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Use a Stamp, Wplus9's Get Sketchy Challenge #3...
and although it's unusual for my creations not to contain such, House of Cards' September Challenge: Stitch It Up!
Here's this week's Creative Challenge No. 89 graphic to get you going in the right direction.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  We'd also be honored to have you play along with us!  You have until 12 noon EST, on Monday, September 21, 2015, to link up your takes over at that same challenge link above.  And don't forget to check out last week's striking Creative Challenge No. 88 Top Picks, too.  Thanks so much for humoring me with a visit!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!
