Stuck?! September 1st Sketch

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

Morning, y'all!  It's September already, and that means a brand new sketch from our fearless leader at Stuck?! Sketches.  Let's just get right to it.  Shall we?
I started this page by stamping a variety of horizontal images, in the top half of my starry, patterned, paper, base page, in Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Summer Sun, Jet Black, and Cotton White inks, before machine-stitching a couple of strategically-located circles with silver-threaded, straight stitches.  A couple of patterned papers, one of which was framed with more of those silver stitches, as well as a bit of vellum, back my photos which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.  A handful of die cuts, beginning with a darling, little tepee and "stay curious" tag, laced with white string and a bit of white lace, ground the bottom left corner of my photo grouping...
and also includes heart and "DREAM", as well as color-coordinating pennant, die cuts.  The bird was die-cut from patterned paper; framed with a die-cut, Whisper White, cardstock circle; trimmed with a die-cut, patterned, paper "tweet"; and grounded with the hand-written July 17, 2014, date.  Stamped in Jet Black ink and water-colored, in shades of Daffodil Delight, Summer Sun, and Tangerine Tango inks, feathers round out the grouping.  And although it can't be seen in these photos, a bit of Wink of Stella for the stamped feathers, as well as the feathers on the die-cut bird, pack quite the punch.
A tag, laced with a bit of yellow, seam binding ribbon, tied in a bow, was tucked in among the layers of papers near the top of my design and pinned by a length of silver, chevron Washi, as well as a hand-cut, from patterned paper, "ADVENTURE" word bubble whose letters were glittered and...
which, in turn, was grounded with a "wonderful" die cut.  A couple of star die cuts flank the trio.
Two more factory die cuts, as well as a "hello" sentiment, which was die-cut from silver, glitter paper, trim the stitched circle near the bottom of the design and help frame my journaling which reads, You are so lucky to have a big brother to show you the ropes and teach you everything he knows.
A stamped, in Jet Black ink, airplane...
"LOVE THIS" puffy sticker and sprinkling of clear rhinestones, floral sequins, and enamel dots complete the look.
